RE: Joseph Knight
Hi Ann, thank you for providing the "memorial number" for Joseph Knight. Since you hadn't mentioned which cemetery he was at, I wasn't sure which Joseph Knight you were referring to. I had created memorials for a couple of fellas with the same name. If you wish, you can cut and paste the information from the note/flower section, and if that doesn't work for you, then let me know and I'll send it through an e-mail. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to harm anything leaving it where it is.

I am not a family member, but rather took on a project of Civil War vets. who spent time at the VA hospital in Milwaukee and had reference material at the time to complete the project.

Good luck and regards,
Nadeen

RE: David Carter
It's simply the wrong David Carter. David Carter Jr 61387382 is the son of David Jefferson Carter 12178565 & 1st wife Mehala Lucinda Aldridge Carter. They had an older son Jessie but all other children are already connected & accounted for.

These Carters are my mother's family from present day Bacon County, GA, all descendants of my 4th great grandfather Isaac Carter 12178515 1790-1854 who donated the land near his home place for the 10 mile church & cemetery in "Carter-town" just east of present day Alma, GA. In order to connect these Carters to the ones at 10 mile cemetery in Baxley you have to go back to Isaac's father George Carter 11019571.

RE: James Simon Bailey
James Simon was my dad's grandfather. She made a tape many years ago that we had hoped would tell about James Simon's parents.
Supposedly his mom was an Indian. He doesn't show up in a census till he moves to Fla in 1876 with the first wife and 4 children. There is a lot of info about him in the Ancient Records of Alachua County Clerk's office. He gave property to his children and the grand kids whose parents had passed.
Beatrice was the last of 19 children. The
two sets of children didn't have much to do with each other. Mary Ann Fulghum had 11 children and Annie had 8.

RE: Melvin Baxley
Haven't corresponded in awhile. Hope you and your family are well. I found professional portrait type photos of Melvin and Mildred Baxley from 1945. I will post them to their Find A Grave memorials.

I also put a picture of her stone on her site. She is a sister in-law to my wife's great grand uncle Wilton Herring.
