I live just blocks from Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, Orange County, FL. It's beautiful, and I'd be happy to take a photo if one is needed. I LOVE going to the cemetery!
I have been actively photographing and documenting the older sections of Greenwood. I am currently going through all their records to make sure we get everyone on findagrave.
I'll gladly transfer management of memorials upon request, no matter what your relation (unless they are my relatives - but I will transfer a relative to a direct descendant if I am not one). I create every memorial with the hope that their family will find them. Every transfer request I receive makes me know its worth it.
Please let me know if you find any errors or I've duplicated a memorial, I'll fix it! It's so important to have dates correct and names properly spelled - but we all make mistakes, and sometimes the markers are very difficult to read.
Feel free to use my photos for your personal genealogical project. My photos are of public places, and of no artistic (I can guarantee that!) merit. I don't believe I "own" a simple snapshot of someone else's grave marker. I volunteer here to SHARE and to make sure memorials are as accurate as possible.
My mother and I are researching our family who settled in Lee, Phillips and Monroe County, Arkansas.
In particular, we are desperately searching for parents and siblings of Thomas Trotter Bonner, who settled in Spring Creek, AR. He married Elizabeth Shackelford Bonner in 1834 in Marengo Co., AL.
Current projects:
Assisting my mom and the Annie H. Darracott UDC Chapter out of Lakeland, Polk Co, FL in the documentation of Confederate Veterans.
Completing FAG entries for Greenwood Cemetery using various sources including cemetery records and undertaker records. I'm only concentrating on the lettered, older sections. | |
