My name is Kimberly Ann Staton Hancock I was born in Clinton county, raised in Boone county, and live in Montgomery county, all Indiana. I have been interested in genealogy for twenty years and have been working on our family tree. |
I clean and restore tombstones. I am the Cemetery Coordinator for the Genealogy Club of Montgomery County, Indiana. Just finished restoring O'Neall cemetery. The Club is currently working on the restoration of the Yountsville cemetery in Montgomery county, Indiana. Started in August of 2011.
I add memorials just to help others, if you see a family member on here that I have added, please do not hesitate to ask for the transfer, my main concern is to add as many as I can & to help others & to get it right. If you see a family member of mine on here and have an addition please do not hesitate to e-mail me.
My main goal it to clean and restore our Pioneer cemeteries, I have a tri-pod and generator, all the equipment to level, clean, repair, and fix a 1 ton monument, as long as it is not over 8 feet tall. Happy Hunting, Kim

Sorry for that--I should have checked! At any rate, it was a very good thing! Much appreciated. Gwen

Thank you very much! Again, thanks also for your wonderful work in restoring the Yountsville Cemetery. When we were there several years ago, we were dismayed to see its condition, but I didn't know how to do anything about it, so I was thrilled to later discover that the Montgomery County historical society had undertaken the restoration and to see the results on Find a Grave. Regards, Gwen

I wrote to you in the fall asking permission to use some of your photos from the restored Yountsville cemetery on my ancestry.com family tree. I have photos from pre-restoration, but I wanted to show the before and after. If you don't mind, I would like to continue to use your photos, with attribution to you. Please let me know if this is okay with you. Regards, Gwen

Thank You very much for your hard work and
Thank you so much for the restoration work that was done in the Yountsville Cemetery. My husband and I were through there several years ago and were dismayed to discover that the gravestone for my distant great grandfather Thomas Hall was mostly covered with grass--we stumbled across it merely by luck--and the stones of other relatives were broken. We are from Pennsylvania, and I didn't know whom to contact about restoration possibilities. I was thrilled to later see photos of the restored graves on Find a Grave.
To my dismay, I have just discovered that all photographs on Find a Grave are now copyrighted by the person who took the photo. In the past, I have used some of your photos on my ancestry.com tree, with attribution to Find a Grave, and I hope that you will be so kind as to grant me retrospective permission to keep them on my tree. If not, I will of course remove them.
Yours truly, Gwen Lougy, email@example.com
Thanks again for your wonderful work at Yountsville.

Kim, Do you think you could decipher any dates or info on this stone. I have tried to figure out anything from the photo and it is impossible with my untrained eye. Ant help would be appreciated.

Thank You very much for the transfer.
I love what you are doing, so many Cemeteries are forgotten and falling to ruin across our country, or have never been located until sites like Find A Grave appeared...I am grateful to know some groups are doing something about that....so many of our families died thousands of miles from us
Thanks, Shar R.

Thank you for transferring Margaret's memorial. I will update the information I have. And thank you for posting the memorial. I may not have found her without your work.
|cstkent||Infant Dowden Find A Grave Memorial# 83055334|
Do you happen to know if "infant Dowden" could be Sarah Dowden, daughter of J & A Dowden? I have a photo of her stone that I found along with family: Alven, Henry T, John L, and W. T. C.
