We will soon be leaving Find A Grave forever. This has been a very difficult decision to make because we have always enjoyed sharing information with others.|
If you find we have transferred a memorial to you, it is because we didn't have the heart to delete your hard work.
Thank you to all who have taken photos and shared information with us over these last five years. It will always be much appreciated.
Eva and Dale

Appreciate it! It was a nice surprise.

Thank you very much for the transfers. I will do my best to add to their pages. I have been researching the pages I have. This will also send me back to St. Patrick's for sure as I have only been there once.
I am sorry you are leaving findagrave because of all your great contributions!

Thank You. I enjoy doing this.
|Grace Younglove Hudson||Kingson Ching|
Thank you for the information on Kingson Ching.
Information posted 3 Sep 2013.
born Honolulu 25 May 1895
died Keanae, Maui 1 Aug. 1938
Mr. Ching, born as Ching Kin Seong was born to Ching Fo Pau and Ten Chow in Honolulu. At an early age he supported his mother and two younger brothers. He was inducted into the 2nd Hawaiian Infantry as a Private 29 July 1918 and served in Company K. Discharged 31 January 1919, he married Miss Maggie A. Soon on the 1st of November 1919. He worked in Honolulu as a bookkeeper and after the death of his father-in-law in 1921, took over management of the Keanae Store. At that time, the Hana Highway had not yet been completed and the only access was by steamer or pack mule along the ditch trails. He became a respected member of the community and thanks to his precise work recording the Koolau District in the 1930 US Census, future generations have an accurate snapshot of those who lived in the villages as well as along the East Maui Irrigation Company ditches. After his death at age 43, Maggie continued to run the Keanae Store which was known locally as the Ching Store. Today, the pond below the bridge in upper Keanae is known as Chings Pond
