Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello! My name is Larry Mooney and I currently live in Paola, Miami County, Kansas. I grew up on a farm on the Linn and Miami County line, north of LaCygne, Kansas. I am a retired electrician. I am able to visit most of the cemeteries in Miami and northern Linn counties. I have been interested in genealogy for many years and like to walk cemeteries, taking photos of old headstones. I enjoy looking at these headstones and wondering about the lives of the people they represent. When I walk the cemeteries, I am struck at how many children are interred.

I am researching the surnames: Mooney, Fannan, Hahn, Jennings, DeMastus, Farmer, Zimmerman, Weech, Lundy and Marmon.

I am not related to most of the people whose photos I have submitted, unless it is a surname listed in my personal bio, so I will not have additional information. I only have personal knowledge of the family and friends on whose graves I have left a virtual flower. Please contact me if you would like to add a biography to any of the internments I have listed.

You may use my photos for your own personal use, but if for any other reason, please contact me. If you are requesting a photo from a cemetery, it is helpful to have a section number, row number and plot number. Your request will be filled much sooner that way.

If you find any errors or have additional information for any memorial I have posted, please do not hesitate to email me. I will be glad to make corrections/additions...and if it is a family member of yours, I will turn the editing rights over to you so you can do as you wish!

RE: Smith
Thank you Larry, for sending the memorial numbers. I do not think I am related to this line of Smiths and Mooneys. I wish you well in your searches!

I am still searching for "Junior" Smith (Henry Smith, Jr.) born in Iowa about 1922. His father died in 1947 in Kansas City MO, and his mother in 1942. The parents are both buried in Maple Hill Cemetery in Wyandotte County, KS. I have no idea what happened to Junior and would love to find him or his descendants. (Just in case you run across him in your searches!)

Henry Smith, Sr and his wife Ida J. Vineyard memorials are: #95400151 and #95400311.

All my best,

RE: Smith -- Mooney
Hi Larry,
Those names (Joseph Smith and Mary Elizabeth Mooney) do not sound familiar. Are they living people? Is there a Find a Grave memorial for them that I could look at?

All my best,
