Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born 1946, Chandler OK; US Army, Vietnam, 1968-69; Ph.D. University of Kansas, 1976; current residence: Tokyo, Japan.

Author of two books of family history: "North of Deep Fork: An Oklahoma Farm Family in Hard Times," which deals with Lincoln County; and "The Fate of Bones: Adventures in Family History," which follows the Pound/Pounds family from Virginia in the mid-1600s to Oklahoma at the start of WWII. Available from Amazon.

Recently I have written about early-day killings in Lincoln Co. Oklahoma. I have a group of seven stories courting a publisher.

I run a Lincoln County Oklahoma website at The Table of Contents for the new book is posted there. And I've just started a new website for McCorkle Cemetery in Lincoln Co. because the FAG contributor who controls most of the sites there suffers from terminal inertia: Right now, I am working on a book about the vanished village of Clematis, south of Davenport in Lincoln Co. It's not by chance that its rise and fall coincides with that of the Oklahoma Socialist Party.

Not all of her children are listed here. Her son Jimmy is my daughter's father.

RE: Dunstons in Wellston Cem.
Sorry for my reply being delayed over a year! I just happened to run across my FindAGrave messages.

No, I don't know if the local police are aware of it or are making checks. Unfortunately it's probably better not for it to be well-known, or else some kids will do just what you've suggested they might.

Hi Wayne I am no kin to him and really don't remember how I came across the memorial.
I read it and it was very said and said how very sad. So I put the flower on the memorial.

Wm Treger
Hi Wayne:

I've fulfilled your photo request for Wm Treger and have uploaded several photos.

I also took photos of the memorial for Bertha Treger who is interred beside William. It appears that she was seven (7) years old at the time of her passing. Possibly Mr. Treger's sister?

Best regards,

RE: Joseph Marion Thompson
Hello there. I'm sorry that I don't know if those people were related to him. He came to Oklahoma from Kansas sometime before 1900, as he married his wife Nancy Williams there on Aug 20, 1900.

The Fullerloves and Alsips were related to them, as those wives were Joseph's sisters. He only had two brothers, Jesse "Mac", who married Nancy after Joseph passed away; and George O., who married Frances Fleming and lived in Missouri.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
