Union Hill Cemetery
The Union Hill Cemetery located in Tilly, AR has an incorrect description.

Is this something you would please correct?

Current Description:
Cemetery notes and/or description:
Cemetery is located on the Van Buren/Pope County line. The entrance to the cemetery is in Van Buren County, but the majority of the cemetery is in Pope County.

CORRECT Description:
Cemetery is located on the Pope/Van Buren County line. The entrance to the cemetery IS IN POPE County, but the majority of the cemetery IS IN VAN BUREN County.

RE: sam graham wright, sr/jr.
yes, that would be him. He and my aunt Lee lived in rockdale tx when they were married. they didn't have any children together. The last time I heard, she was living in Oregon. Both sets of my parents, Wrights and Schobeys were from Gonzales,Tx. Wrightsboro is named for my grt, grt grandfather, Leroy Clay Wright who came from Alabama to Texas. He was my grt grandfather Sam Graham Wright, Sr's father. Grt grandfather Sam was born in Panola County, Mississippi. On ancestry I saw that Leroy's family, siblings and mother all came to Texas. Leroy also served in the confederate army and was well known in the Gonzales area.

I remember Frank Martin. He was my dad's first cousin. His mother was my grandfather Wright's sister. He also married a sister of my mother, Leola, nee Schobey. He died in Houston in 1972, pneumonia?

RE: sam graham wright, sr/jr.
thank you and your niece! I have often wondered where my dad's father and grandfather were interred. Both my Wright father and my mother who was a Schobey, grew up in Gonzales and I unfortunately never got to meet them. They died in the same year that my mom and dad were married, 1933. We recently held a Wright family reunion in Fredericksburg, Tx and had family from Tennessee, Texas, Florida, New York. Great get together!
Thank you for all the good works you do,
Sincerely, Minnie Wright Schreck

I was just laughing as I read your reply.
I retired last year and have been looking for a new hobby.
I do have a photo of her plaque but it contains a lot of info relating to living people.
I made it as family historian friendly as I could.
In fact with this new found hobby I will now go out and photograph the graves there.
Your photo will end up with a grave photo tree attached to it!!
I need to read up on the site how to go about it.
I have lots of gravestones I have photographed of the family over the years.
Others may see them and add photos.
That would be wonderful.I just had an email from one of my nephews.
They are thrilled that you took time to photograph Uncle Sabbo's memorial while on holidays "down under."

RE: S Romeo Memorial
Yes she was at Charles Darwin. I was gobsmacked that you saw her art work. She died last year in April but is not buried in Alice Springs.
She has a memorial niche in Hamley Bridge Cemetery.
You are an amazing researcher.
I looked at the Cummings memorial from the Stuart Cemetery for 1911.
I had no idea he started horse racing in Alice Springs.
To be truthful I was expecting to see that he died in the Boer War given the other two servicemen!!

The special bits of info that you provide like that are wonderful for family historians.
You are doing a great job Dan

Died as a result of chemicals used in the war.

Sabbo, as he was nicknamed, was my brother in law.
I would be quite happy to take over the grave.
