|jennifer gardner||Mary Murphy/Nancy Colvin Burke Cemetery|
Hi Nancy, just wanted to share a couple things with you. In my research of Burke/Burk Cemetery, I have a Mary Ann Murphy who married Moses D. Burk... their daughter Melvina married Eli Helmick, also buried in this cemetery. Mary Ann Murphy was, I believe, the daughter of William Murphy, who came with Jesse Helmick (Eli's dad) to MI from OH in the 1830s. Also, Nancy Colvin (Mason's niece) married Jesse's other son Samuel Teter Helmick. Their graves are at the front of the cemetery. Nancy's stone was "nailed" into the earth a handful of years ago by a nearby fallen tree just outside the cemetery gate. I grew up next door to this cemetery and remember these names well, on top of the local research I have done. Hope this helps!

You're very welcome.

Nancy, I ran an edit program to improve the quality for Sarah, Spencer, Susan, and Louisa Sparks to make them a little more readable and reposted them.
|Jim Cartwright||Sarah Sparks|
I took a picture of her marker today and will add it to the memorial. They have a big marker for the family. The east side has Sarah Sparks and Spencer Sparks. The south side has Susan Sparks. The north side has Louisa J Sparks. In front of it on the east side are four individual markers. They say Susan, Louisa, Mother and Father. I assume that Mother and Father are Sarah and Spencer. Right behind it to the west, there are three very old markers on the ground. One says L Marie, daughter of Joseph & Mary Sparks. I could not read the dates. The second one says Juliana, daughter of Joseph & Mary Sparks. The death date looks like it says Dec 8, 1848. Age looks like 4 years, 8 months, 26 days, but it is hard to read. The third one says Benjamin F, son of Joseph & Mary Sparks. I could not read the dates.

Thank you for the transfer!
Thank you for the obituary for Benjamin Swope. I added the information to his memorial.
I just added Paul and Emma from Lawnview Cemetery outside of Philadelphia.
If you're related, I highly recommend you have the cemetery raise the stone. All the stones in that section (including my grandparents') have been ignored. They are really bad. If something isn't done to them soon, they will be lost underground.
This cemetery, as most of them, really should be a shamed of themselves.

Nancy, I agree the headstone looks like Rowan instead of Rowen. I also added pictures for adjacent graves for Laura L Haggerty and Clayton R Haggerty.
|C. Bryan||RE: Franklin B. Feather|
I have his name: Franklin B. Feather - but Benjamin is most likely correct. On FamilySearch they list his birth date as June 1, 1888 but it is unclear where he was born. If his father is Edward, then it's Nebraska.
I put in an 'edit' for the date change - from 'unknown'. If you ask Pam for a transfer, I'm sure she will do it for you. You're welcome for all. cb

Helen (McBain) Grubbs and William Grubbs along with their daughter Inez and son Burke are buried at Hamilton Church Cemetery. Still working on the Masseys.
