Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in 1947 in humorist Will Cuppy's hometown, Auburn, Indiana. Not knowing that Cuppy was from Auburn, I bought a paperback copy of his "The Decline and Fall of Practically Everybody" in 1966 at the campus bookstore at Indiana University, Bloomington. I thought it was terrific and mentioned it to a librarian in Auburn who told me that Cuppy was a local product. I started researching Cuppy's life in 1977, and later, his family history. His humor is a national treasure.

Farley family
I inherited a very large stack of great photos and letters from my grandmother who found them inside a suitcase she purchased at an estate sale in Florida. The suitcase contains photos, letters, books, certificates and more. (Even a lock of hair from a young woman who died of consumption in 1889.) Among the many family names was Farley. In fact, more than any other family, I found photos, school books, graduation announcements and more related to Frank Farley, who apparently attended a military academy in 1917 and Purdue University. My search for descendants led me to Find A Grave, and I see that you entered photos of their graves. I would love to find descendants who would treasure these treasures. Do you have any leads, anywhere you can point me to find relatives of the Farleys? (There were a lot of Wheelers in the box, also.)

As a Bloomingtonian, I have special affection for Ross Lockridge Jr. and sometimes visit his real grave. In reading Lockridge materials here, I found your info and discovered that you are a fan of my great unsung hero Will Cuppy. I've had my grandparents' copy of "Decline and Fall" for decades, and I still read it whenever I'm especially down. It never fails to cheer me. Cuppy was one of a kind.

Bard memorial
I put the photos on your Bard memorial and deleted the other memorial. You should suggest to the cemetery that they clean that memorial (and he needs a flag). Interesting man!

Mount Royal Cemetery photo
Hello I am writing to request permission for use of the Mount Royal Cemetery entrance photo you have posted at this Montreal cemetery site. I have a relative Mary Margarite Crimmins (Find A Grave# 108910827) and her family buried there. I live far from Montreal and would appreciate use of your great photo as the cemetery photo for these memorials.
I would appreciate your help with this.
Thank you.

Calvin Fairbank's parents
There are a dual entries for Calvin Fairbank's parents Chester and Betsy Fairbank. You have them buried in Angelica, New York in apparently unmarked graves, but another entry shows their marked graves in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar, New York.

Eugene Glenn Stackhouse
Pastorius of Germantown
There is no evidence that PAstorius is in the Germantown Meeting Burial Ground. There is no St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Germantown. There is a St. Michael's Lutheran Church.

RE: Will Cuppy
Hi, thanks for your message. I am an academic librarian and a historian, so you can imagine how much I enjoy Will Cuppy's works--he still makes me hoot with laughter even though I've read almost everything he's written many times. I hope you get it sorted out. Thank you for keeping things accurate on this wonderful website.

Will Cuppy
Dear Mr. Walter,
For some reason, Will Cuppy's grave is erroneously linked on the website to a woman buried in Arkansas who was only 12 when he committed suicide in New York in 1949.

Her name is Bonnie Jean Perdue.

Birth: May 28, 1937
Death: Jun. 23, 1979

Wife of Ora Lee Perdue.

Family links:
Will Cuppy (1884 - 1949)

Can you get this corrected?

(a lifelong Cuppy fan)
