I am a geneaology junkie! I am not as "owner" of graves, nor am I a "Collector" of names. I am a retired lady who has the time to comb records and record names that are not yet on this site. Today, I had the joy of adding 2 small cemeteries to Findagrave. Something pulled at my heart as I listed babies, families and individuals that I could find NOTHING about. How I hope someone finds their loved ones because of the few hours I spent typing. |
I discovered Find A Grave when I was doing a web search looking for information my great great grandfather. Imagine my delight when I found his grave listed by a kind gentleman who was not even related. I decided then, if I visited a cemetery, I would write every grave down, just in case someone else was looking for their relative.
I have had the joy of meeting many wonderful people who use this site. Unless I am DIRECTLY related to a person, I will ALWAYS transfer graves to someone else. It is not my desire to see how many graves I can list, it is my hope that I have helped someone find their family in a way that they cannot do on their own.
And I appreciate all the kind additional information and corrections. (Sometimes we all suffer from fat-finger syndrome and miss the right key!) Forgive me if I have made an error on your loved ones grave. Let me know and I will correct it.
The main names I am researching in my family: Knowles-Sandlin, Patterson - Brown, Gornto-Allen, Delaney-Roebuck, Entrekin- Martin, Beall-Watts and Holcombe -Watson.
And my husband's family, Miner-Hughes, Nail-Bibb, Freeman-Gantt and Rimel- Headrick.

Thank you for the added information. I have added this information to their memorials. Keep up the good work and good luck on your searches.

Nobody knows! I've gone over property records, but since I don't know what part of their property it was originally on, I can't figure out where it might be now. It should be close to Crooked Creek, because if you walked to the furthest part away from the road and kept going, you would eventually run into their property.....but it was a pretty large piece of property.

Robin, I sure am happy you found that list and chose to do the generous job of putting them on Find a Grave. It's with much gratitude and joy I receive these transfers connected to my precious Whitfields.
Your work is important and I'm sure touches many hearts and lives.

I did have two branches of my McPhersons that went to Alabama. Will check it out, thanks.
Enjoy that Grandbaby, they grow up too fast.

I have the management of Edmond Bailey Slayton and Nora Slayton, my grandparents. There should be nothing for you to transfer, I already have them.
I had an EDIT suggestion from you trying to correct her death place to Walker co GA, and she died in Morristown, Hamblen co TN, I know because I was there.
|Donna McPherson||RE: Duplicates|
Hey, we all do duplicates but we are willing to fix many others are not.
My line of the Gorntos is Nathan's sister Hannah Gornto. It is too hot here in Florida to be out in cemeteries very long, so I am working on my genealogy. Be glad when it cools down so I can do more photographing.
I am working on my Burnett and Gornto ancestors. Nathan Gornto I linked to your entry, but there is a duplicate out there. I did send and edit stating theirs was a duplicate. There is also a duplicate of David Gornto.

I appreciate your efforts, but my grandmother did not die in Walker co GA, she died while living with her daughter Gladys in Morristown.
