I came across this website and decided it was a nice way to honor forever those loved ones who have crossed my path of life at some time whether family, friends, co-workers or their families. I have also included quite a bit of information on my family (Rake/Raike & McCane) as it becomes available for genealogy purposes.
If by adding any of your loved ones I have overstepped my bounds or upset you that is not my intent. If you do not like what I have done please let me know and I can delete the information.
Please use the edit button for sending any requests for corrections or transfer.
If you have other loved ones you would like for me to add just send me their information and I will be happy to do so for you.
The comment below isn't mine but I saw how true it was within a short time of being on Find A Grave. I copied this to share from another member's site:
I think it is really a shame what findagrave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some.
Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers. What has been forgotten by many is that these are people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.
My apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them.
You may use any of my photos for your own personal use or for posting to your tree on Ancestry.com without my expressed consent. You are not permitted to use my photos for commercial usage. If you do use my photos, I appreciate a note crediting me with the photo if you can. If not, no big deal. The whole purpose of posting photos is to breathe life back to the deceased.

Thank you so much for transferring her memorial to me!
|David McCane||Nancy McCane|
Cousin, this is Dave McCane from Kentucky.
Samuel and Nancy Heavrin are not Nancy's parents.
Back when I was a teenager(and reconfirmed later), I spent weeks researching in Bracken Co. Sadly, I found that their daughter was Margaret and she married Alfred Fields. They also had a son named Thomas.
Her father, I believe, was the first McCane from our line in Kentucky, Willam (Joseph)who was married to a Mary. I have Nancy being born about 1802 in Kentucky.

I've started using a name for those that use Find a Grave as a competition of some sort. They're ghouls. It's good to document internments, but for Pete's sake, let the departed's bodies cool first!
|Kathy Phelan||PFC Michael Lynn Scisney|
I put in a request for a picture of Michael's stone. I have been informed that he is not buried there. Can you help clear this up?

I know.... it is so hard to read some of these obituaries.
I know that I am very grateful for any information about my family, even when it is uneasy to read. So few of us have information surrounding the circumstances of the deaths of our ancestors. Even when it is sad/bad news, it is good in the sense that it helps bring some closure and understanding.
Thank you for posting it and thank you for all you do on Find A Grave to help preserve history and connect families.

If you want to transfer Bob & Emily Waggener's headstone to the older memorial that would be fine. I no longer have the photos. Let me know when the transfer is complete and I will delete my memorials.

I found his wife in Carthage Cemetery on Find A Grave. Her memorial # is 30292020. I did do a photo request for her headstone. Maybe they are buried together. Do you happen to live in the area and can look for it?
|Jim Roach||Violet Raike|
According to my Aunt Donnie (Donna Raike/Mulford Roach), Violet was cremated and her ashes were buried with their mother in the Mound Hill Cemetery in Gallipolis, Ohio. Just thought you'd like to know. Appreciate your work.
