Retired, and we're lovin' it...
Genealogy was a hobby when I had a day job; now it seems it is my day job.
Find A Grave was a useful tool that has grown to become something else!
My recent focus has been on converting old WPA cemetery surveys done in the early 1930s, from paper and free-form text files, into spreadsheets for upload. We take pictures for exercise...
Transfers on request... Please just ask.

Re: Jacob Hornik #87322278 - any chance you have a picture of this grave, or any additional info on his burial or site? I suspect he is an elusive relative I've been seeking, but wondering if the last name was transcribed incorrectly. If it is indeed the fella I am seeking, his last name was actually spelled Hrivnak (wife was Catherine). Many thx! S M Freed

Would you pls consider transferring Mary Knanic (#87322349) to me so she can be included with the rest of her family? Also, might you have any additional info on her grave site or burial? Many, many thx! S M Freed

Thank you for your response. Sadly, 3 of the 4 people were related.
Anna Majer (sic, should be Mauger), 58, was the grandmother to Anna, 8 months, and Mary, 2 1/2 Mager (sic, also should be Mauger). From my research I am not able to find any relation to Anna, 3 months, daughter of Andrew and Mary, who died on the same day as my Great Great Grandmother.
I was curious if your entry for my Great Great Grandmother was just a transcription or if you were somehow related or had walked the cemetery because I am still seeking the burial location/death date of Anna's husband John who died in 1910 or 1911.

I was wondering if you could tell me how you came to create the memorial and record the info for the above Anna Majer? Was this just from the 1930s WPA transcription found online? I am curious as this is my Great Great Grandmother. The last name is actually MAUGER, but without seeing a stone to see how it was spelled (she was Slovak) it could be an error in the original transcription. I know it is a long shot, but do you happen to have any further info on this burial, such as location in the cemetery or if there is a stone? I live out of the area and plan to visit this summer. Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

Robert and Sam,
The graves for Odd Fellows were moved to either Mount Peace Cemetery in Phila or Lawnview Cemetery in Rocklege Pa. I found my grandfather was moved to Lawnview.

Thank you for looking for the headstones of the Shanks that I requested: William, Simon D., Mary J., Rebecca, Lizzie, Elizabeth. My ex motherinlaw was a Shanks. I was looking for this information for her. I appreciate the time you took.

Thank you so much. I am pretty sure I am related to him somehow. I am so happy you found his stone.
