Bio and Links
Bio Photo Georgia (Decatur, and now Cherokee County) has been home for two thirds (most) of my life. Two sons, three granddaughters, and three grandsons, all of whom are Georgians.
An Amarillo, Texas native (and 10 yr. native of Fort Worth), and seven generations removed from Patrick and Margaret McCullough Phinney of Chester (District)County, SC, dating from 1786.
History at times surpasses genealogy as the greater interest. This site is a compilation of stories from individuals responsible for that history, and it never ceases to improve with each addition.
Paternal Lineage: Phinney, Crosser, Wright, McCullough
Maternal Lineage : Daniel, Newman, Talley, Magee

"Tis but a few whose days amount
To three score and ten
And all beyond that short account
Is sorrow, toil and pain."
(from Nancy Agnes Austen McCreight headstone)

RE: Ira Sanborn
Roger Harris from New York and June Willis from Blakely are relatives. We found the old Sanborn Cemetery and their research gives him that middle name. His wife's middle name is being used as a maiden name on some records around here. They are really doing a lot of work on that family. That is the name they have found. Thanks

Wes, I checked on her parents, and you are correct. I submitted edits to connect them to her. Thanks. Margot

RE: Acquilina Tucker
You're welcome, I'm glad I could help!
Also, she was buried next to several other Tuckers so I added photos for them as well.

RE: Polly Reinhardt
The source I used on Mary Polly Matthews Reinhardt says Polly was another name. It does NOT give her parents.but says she was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina and married Adam Hoyle Reinhardt in Waleska, Cherokee county Ga on 26 Nov. 1848. I have Matthews connections from Tifton which also link to Cherokee co. So was disappointed that parents not named.

RE: R P Lackey
I noticed the 1880 census - a year before R.P. Lackey died, he was living in Milton County, GA which now no longer exist and is now 5 counties combined. I think the Bartow location came from somebody on who placed his death there and now I'm wondering since R.P. is buried in Fulton County, that's where it should be.

RE: Newton Tippin
Errata - I just noticed that my earlier post about Newton being John L. Tippin[g]'s son. John's name is not spelled with a final "g" - my mistake.
