|Donna Bohon||Mary Elizabeth Bohon|
Thank You for recording and photographing the head stone of Mary Elizabeth Bohon in the Wimmer Cemetery. I was able to visit the Cemetery. Just for the record--Dunman was her maiden name. Her parents were Joseph Edward Dunman and Elizabeth Mary Fralin.
|Kimberly S.||RE: Nolan and Amos|
According to the 1930 Census, Sherman was 8, living with his parents in Harlan County, Kentucky. I don't know for sure where he was born. His sister Mary Jane is still alive, but she is 95. It has amazed me that when I talk with this part of my family, they have to really think hard to remember their parents and grandparents names. Its like they never thought about it.
My Pleasant Amos(s) are:
Charles Pleasant Amos born in Kentucky in 1864. He married Mary Elizabeth Denny (born 1863 in Indiana) on 2/27/1887 in Martin County (probably Shoals, Indiana). He passed away somewhere between 1893-1900 due to a gun shot wound, either by his 2nd wife Lillie or self inflicted.
Charles's father is Pleasant H. Amos born in 1833 Tennessee, married Mary Jane/Holly/Polly (Harris or Raines?) He passed away in 1905 in Shoals. Martin County, Indiana. This is tough because there is a mix of several Pleasant Amos's that married a Mary Jane/Holly/Polly that people have not researched and just added. I did mine through Census/marriage records. My grandmother remembers stories of a Henry Amos who came from Tennessee by covered wagon.
|Kimberly S.||Sherman Nolan|
Sherman was born in Harlan County, Kentucky.
His mother's name is Flora, not Nora. Depending on who wrote the obit, they man not have knows.
Would you please add his wife Bessie Find A Grave Memorial# 67432080, and his parents Willie Find A Grave Memorial# 8494502, and Flora Find A Grave Memorial# 8494528.
|Kimberly S.||RE: Nolan and Amos|
Sherman Nolan is my second great uncle. I was not aware he had passed. I live in Texas.
Amos's are hard to trace. Mine in Indiana were in Martin County and Jackson County. Prior to that they came from Kentucky. My maternal grandmother is an Amos. I don't know a Mabel, but that line has been hard to trace. We have a few of the Pleasant Amos's, and there seem to be several.
