“The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.” - Harriet Beecher Stowe |
Please do not add copyrighted information, photos that you did not take, photos of obituaries or obituaries which include names of surviving family members to any of the pages I have created. Find a Grave will be notified and will be asked to remove the item(s).Please be respectful to families and allow them to have the funeral before you post information about the deceased.
Living in Canada I DO NOT receive emails letting me know that people have submitted a photo request to a cemetery I have visited/ photographed, so PLEASE message me directly so that I may fulfill your request. I do have photos of most all of the markers that I have transcribed. So please ask.
If you would like me to remove a memorial please let me know and I shall remove it right away - no questions asked.
Having Lyme Disease I need less stress in my life and need "gentle exercise" I find taking photos for Find A Grave gets me the fresh air, and the tranquility I need in the summer months and uploading the information exercises my mind in winter. If you need to know more about Lyme Disease check - www.canlyme.com and www.albertalyme.org
To request a transfer or edit information please use the EDIT tab at the top right of the person's page, check the drop down menu for options. DO NOT USE THE PUBLIC MESSAGE BOARD TO MAKE THESE REQUESTS.
Please remember to include the memorial page number and your membership number when asking for information about an entry I have made.It makes it sooooo much easier for me to find the person you are asking about.
Because of the few RUDE people demanding I transfer pages to them, I shall no longer make transfers unless you are polite AND can explain to me how the person is related to you.
However, as FaGer Scott wrote :- If there is any particular entry that I have made that is very important to you, related or not, if you sponsor their page I will transfer it to you ASAP. This helps Findagrave and shows me that this entry truly is important to you and that you are not simply trying to 'collect' all you can find of a particular surname.
Should you find that I have inadvertently duplicated an entry or photo please let me know, I will remedy the situation as soon as possible.

>realizing that dates on markers can be incorrect, found one in Edmonton where d.o.d. is 31 April 1921, and that information on death records is only as good as the memory of the person giving the information, how would you feel If rather than changing the dates I add the information you have provided to his bio, giving credit to yourself for providing it?
Yes, but please give credit to the BC Archives online. I transcribe the death records from there. I usually make note of the discrepancy between the documents and the source of information in the notes of the memorial (ie. this source says this, this other source says this).
I have seen many discrepancies. Unfortunately, even if the information is provided by a family member they may only know so much and during a time of grief. I have also seen phonetic spellings, so some of the error is likely on the part of the recorder.
If a family member someday assumes the memorial hopefully they can clear up the misinformation.

There is an empty space at the location so it is possible that there just isn't a marker. I don't know if the cemetery can tell you if there is one or not for sure but you could ask them. They also may actually have the exact date of death and internment which they can tell you too.

I totally agree with your opinion of Cemetery Sites. Why is it the strongest willed people entering the data are usually those that are in error?! Such is life I guess.
Keep your chin up girl...you're doing a fantabulous job!!
