Davis family
Hello,

I see that you added information about Milton Davis. He was the son of my Great Great Grandfather. My Great Grandmother was Zannie Cobb Davis Godwin. I have just started researching this line. Do you have any other information?

Thanks,

Mary D. Ward

I need your help
New Home Primitive Baptist Church
Andalusia
Covington County
Alabama, USA

I think I have made a mistake in this cemetery. I noticed the one photo stating the names of the Granthams 6 children. Then I remembered that Jim Tipton said, every man, woman or child deserve their own memorials, although they may be buried together.

So today I was going through my memorials and made a separate one for all 6 of those names, I thought were children. However, when I was done, it looked as if they had named all their children those same names. Now I know what Find A Grave meant when they said, when taking photo's to make a close up of the names, etc,, then make a photo of the over all grave, then add a photo of the grave, showing the surrounding area.

I do feel that I have listed 5 children, that lived to be adults. So any help is appreciated.

Thanks Donna

Winnette

I have no idea, if or when I could ever go back over there, but, if you could, I suspect, that the photo I made of that marker, was literally the names of all of their children period.

I am so sorry, but, I need to know if I should be deleting those six memorials. Thanks, Winnette

RE: Alexander
Thank you so much Ms. Fountain for getting this issue resolved so quickly.

Is there anyone nearby the cemetery that could take a picture of Alexander Jackson's gravestone?

Thanks again,
Rhonda

Alexander "Alex" Jackson Find A Grave Memorial# 54517731
Ms. Fountain:

In the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Opp, Covington County, Alabama, there are two memorials for the same individual, I believe. You set-up one on July 5, 2010 (#54517731) and Taylor Whisonant set-up one (#61785110) on November 17, 2010.

The birth dates are the same (May 28, 1859)however, the dates of death are totally different. Your memorial has a death date of August 13, 1940 (along with a picture of a newspaper obit) and the other memorial has a date of death as 1915. That's a huge difference in years.

I believe these two individuals to be the same person, but of course, without a picture of the tombstone/tombstones, I can't say that for sure.

Is there anyway you could look into this issue for me? Also, do you know from what newspaper you got the obit? I need the name of the newspaper and date, if possible. That might help resolve this issue also.

I tried to request a photo of the tombstone, but apparently, there is already a request from someone else. It really would help if there was a photo of the tombstone/tombstones on the memorial page.

Thank you,
Rhonda Jordan
