Bio and Links
Bio Photo Much of my family originated in Virginia and North Carolina - three of my grandparents. The other grandparent's family came from the Hudson and Mohawk River Valleys of New York State and then spent about a generation in Ohio in and near Zanesville, Ohio. I was surprised how much of my family I was able to find with the exception of my clan which I can only trace back three generations in TX. Many were involved in the Revolutionary War. A large number of officers and soldiers in the Civil War with the majority on the rebel side; with one family having Captain brothers on each side. Most generally I will not transfer memorial pages (indirect or direct relatives) as I loose continuity in painting a broad picture of our famalies. I am open to posting information and link your family members that you may want to be known about your ancestors.

Solomon Tucker - Harkeys Valley Cem.
I checked Solomon's stone and his wife's name is not on the back of his stone. I didn't find one for her anywhere in the cemetery, but could have missed it. There are many unreadable, and lots of field stones.

I'm helping a dear friend out on their family tree and I would like to know if you know anything about the Nixon's in the Pleasant Garden Cemetery in Lone Jack, Jackson Co. MO? William Nixon m Eveline Unknown Nixon. Was wondering if you know anything about Eveline Unknown Nixon?

Pleasant Gardens Cemetery
Hey Jim!

I am planning a trip to Missouri this Fall and wish to visit the cemetery where the Kreeger's are buried. I will have another cousin with me who would be directly descended from them! Can you help me get in touch with the people I need to contact to get access to the cemetery?

Old Coward Cemetery
Jim, In an effort to correct memorials that were wrongly combined with Upper Coward Cemetery (NC, Jackson Co., Cowarts) when "also known as Coward Cemetery" was added, I have created a page/location for Old Coward Cemetery.
If you wish, change the burial location for the following memorials to: Old Coward Cemetery. (Beware: Copy & Save Pictures, since they sometimes disappear with transfer or edit.

I am about to fulfill your photo request but unfortunately, it is a photo of the area, only. There is no headstone. There is always a chance that it might have been buried under the sod, but that usually only happens in this area to stones that are very old. I suggest you contact the office and if they say there is supposed to be one, let me know and I will put in a work order to have it uncovered, and retake the photo.

Sorry this was not a more positive outcome.

Coward Cemeteries on Caney Fork NC
FYI: On F-A-G, there should be 4 Coward Cemeteries on Caney Fork: Coward, Old Coward, Upper Coward (2 ducks), and Lower Coward. Someone has combined the first 3, and thrown in some Lower Coward burials under the name "Coward (also known as Upper Coward) as if they were one cemetery. Lower Coward entries still seem to be OK.

Pleasant Gardens Cemetery
Jim, You are not forgotten on the quest for gravestone pictures for this cemetery. I have headed up one Eagle Project to start getting the cemetery cleaned and have two that will be done mid fall (clearing the roads of fallen trees to be able to get to the cemetery through the proper channel). I figure it will take at least 2-3 more projects after these two to get the cemetery in decent shape. The last project will be to restore the damaged stones and ID the names on those that are just leaning up against tree trunks. I can't imagine that we won't find some of your ancestors in the process. Teddi Essig

Franklin Hooper
I was unable to find a headstone for Franklin Hooper. I did several others at that cemetery today and am pretty sure I did not miss any. I would be glad to go back if you have another request or if you find he might be at a nearby cemetery. Sorry I could not be of more help.
