I am now a ninety one year old mother, grandmother, gr-grandmother, and recently a gr-gr-grandmother. On my 80th birthday my grandkids were ask to share what they remember about grandma. Because I realized they didn't know much about their ancestors, I decided to write down what I remembered of the stories that were told to me as I was growing up. That lead me to contact the Sequoia Genealogical Society. |
Volunteers taught me how to find more than 100 years of local family history from the Tulare City Libraries Genealogical Collection.
One volunteer, a retired school teacher taught me, fourth grade style, how to search the Internet on the computer. That year my daughter and grand children gave me a computer for Christmas, and I was off and flying and now I added Find a Grave to my activities.
Seen on another contributor's profile. I couldn't agree more.
We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.
When you visit one of my memorials please leave a flower. I appreciate it when you say what relation, if any, to a person.
Because of my age I would like to transfer some of my memorials. For many of them, I am not a direct descendant, and I prefer to transfer to direct descendants. There are a few occasions where I will make an exception. I will not make any transfers unless you leave a flower and a note.

Arvella, his daughter, had told me this was her Dad and he was called "Wib". Later I received an email from Glenda Harmon saying this was his younger brother Raymond James Harmon. Could you add Glenda's comment to the photo? Arvella is in her 80's and I'm not sure how Glenda is related. If this was a World War II photo it does seem like it might have been his younger brother. Thanks.

I had read a similar article but not this one. Thank you for sharing it. I will contact the Coffee County historical society. I live in TX but my grandmother still lives in TN. The next time I visit I will try to stop by the cemetery.
It's interesting to me that you seem to know that Samuel's wife was Mary McBride. I can't seem to convince anyone else of that despite two death certs of her children saying McBride, census data showing them living with her parents in 1870, tons of dna matches on ancestry to other McBrides but no Robinson matches, etc. EVERYONE has her as Mary Robinson based on a marriage license. I can't explain the marriage license but some day I will figure it out. : )
You can always email me at email@example.com if you need to.

Thank you for the transfer of My Great Grandfather's wife's memorial #141642383. There's some info on there that I didn't have! YAY!
|Tommy Wood||Your memorial updates|
Audrey, I thank you for all the updates you've recently provided. I hope you are in good health and good spirits these days. Best wishes to you and thanks again.
p.s. If there are some unmarked or unknown burials at Courtney Cemetery you need more information about, I met the cemetery trustee the other day and would be happy to see if he could look up any information you need.

I just saw the wonderful photos you left on the Allgood memorials. Thank you so much for sharing them for all to see and enjoy!
|Pat Berel||RE: Angeline|
Mrs. Audrey, Thanks for the reply to Find A Grave Memorial# 88345387 Angeline Dupree Hodge. Which tree on Ancestry is your tree? Please look at my tree
Miamma Dupree Lewing and Brothers Wade, Byrd, and Fred
I just recently created this public tree. In the other public trees, Miamma Dupree Lewing's father is given as LaFrog Dupree which does not prove to be correct. I grew up within walking distance of Miamma Dupree Lewing's home place in Louisiana.
I grew up learning my family history and it is so important to me. Is there someone that you know who would be closer related to Angeline.
Thank You Pat

Angeline "Angie" Dupree Hodge Find A Grave Memorial# 88345387
Mrs. Audrey, I love your bio and I am so happy that you are documenting your family history. I wish I had talked to my grandmother and my parents about their families and young lives. I am now building a Dupree Family Tree. I have an Angeline Dupree who was the daughter of Frederick and Caroline McMillen in my tree. The family were in Sabine Parish, La in the 1860 census and that is where I grew up. On Ancestry your photos from this memorial were in a search for Angeline. Are you related to this Angie? If so, I would like to download the photos to my family tree if she is the Angeline from my family tree. But I want to be sure first. I am not a collector of records unless I know for sure they are my family. Thank you for any information. Pat

You're welcome, Audrey. I'm happy to help. I did fulfill your requests and all 3 Packwoods, however it looks like you did another photo request for one of the ones I already added photos to. I think you should remove that request. The memorial does not need more headstone photos.

I updated her surname, but would like to keep her given name as is. Thanks for understanding.

Thank you for the information. I changed the Cemetery. Merry Christmas. Marietta Miller
