Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello! I am Barbara, 51 years old and my quest is to get to know my Father through public records and internet searches. I was adopted by one of my Father's sisters when I was 2 1/2 years old. Noone in my family would discuss my Father or answer my questions about him or my birth Mother.(I was told she was dead) I met my birth Mother at age 41, we have a good relationship and now I feel a path not taken, is fulfilled in my life. Father, Glover Franklin Pennington, Jr 1924-1968, Mother Dora Louise Peden, 1935-Living. In searching public records, I found a 1/2 brother, Douglas Wayne Pennington b.1948, that I have yet to find any information about his birth state or what happeded after my Father divorced his Mother, Ernesting Louise Foster b.1930? in Colbert County, Tuscumbia, AL 1959. They lived in Asheville, NC from 1949-1951, and after that I thing Ernestine and Douglas moved to Chicago, IL. That is where the trail ends for my 1/2 brother. Anyway the search goes on.

Another Pennington
Hi. I had asked before about Sarah Pennington, but I have a different Pennington I'd like to run across to you. Her name was Elizabeth Pennington and she was born around 1856 in AL (probably Colbert/Franklin area). She was possibly born to Martha Ann Matlock - Pennington. Martha later married Henry Carroll Willis and had several children, but this Pennington girl is kinda a mystery who appears on the 1870 Colbert Co., AL census with them. Ever ran across any of them in your rearch?

RE: Ila Pennington Bailey
thank you for your encouraging words! I'm so thankful I was able to connect you with your relative. Let me know if you would like me to transfer any of the memorials I have made and feel free to use the photos.

RE: Verta Earline Hamm headstone request
You were so right. I checked it out and she was not listed on find a grave, but I found a transcription and found her and many more that had not been listed yet. So you can guess what I've been doing all morning. I had noticed that in her obit too but had forgotten to look into it. Thanks a lot for reminding me.

My Penningtons & Crittendens
Hello. My maternal ggg grandparents were Charles Monroe Willis who married Sarah A Pennington (b 1807 in GA(?)).

In a separate maternal line, my gg grandfather was Lafayette Crittenden (b. around 1852 AL) who was the son of Richard Oscar Crittenden (b ca 1807 - d ca 1856) who was the son of James Crittenden.

Do any of these folks belong to you too?
