Genealogy is one of my passions. I have been helped by countless volunteers and am always looking for ways to repay that generosity. Findagrave (F.A.G.) is a perfect outlet for that. Thank you, to all my fellow F.A.G. contributors, for making this site what it is :) |
This is my volunteer profile. The overwhelming majority of the memorials that I manage through the profile you are reading right now, are not my family. If you are related to anyone amongst my managed memorials, and wish to manage the memorial yourself, please send me a SAC request (last option listed) and I will most likely transfer. For my family, I have created a seperate profile (Bartran-Lee Family, #48769236) for the sole purpose of managing the memorials of my direct ancestors.
I live within walking distance from Bellerive Cemetery (fka Hiram Cemetery), and walking up and down the rows is where most of my memorials and photographs come from. Most of the grave markers in Bellerive are flat, so it's great exercise to search for someone's marker, which allows my genealogy obsession to have multiple benefits. I do avoid contact with the cemetery office as I know other F.A.G. volunteers have been charged $10 per look-up when asking for a burial location. I also try my best to respect the privacy of others I encounter there.
I want every memorial I have added to contain the most complete and accurate information available. I also strive to protect the privacy of the living. If there is not a death date apparent on a grave marker, and the individual would be younger than 110 years, I will NOT add a memorial for that person, unless I am able to locate an obituary or other documented proof that the person is deceased. Bellerive Cemetery does have a number of pre-need markers placed. If a marker contains at least one person's information with a death date, I will add a memorial for only the deceased. I will not edit the photograph to remove any living person's information.
Have fun, and be safe out there!

Me again. Henry T. Metz is, without a doubt, the brother of Elmer Metz and Herman Metz who are buried in Clinton Il. Henry's death certificate says his wife was Lilian and his parents match with Elmer and Herman. They are also brothers to Lottie McBroom buried in Desoto. How did your, or rather how do I, get a copy of Lillian.s death certificate. I see you have the number but I can't figure out how to access it. Sorry to be asking so much of you.

thanks for the death certificate info site. I will make use of it. Thanks also for your offer of ancestry but think I will do the 14 day free trial as I would overload you in no time with requests. I don't see an email address for you. Mine (or at least one of them) is firstname.lastname@example.org. Send me something with yours if you don't mind.

Don't know about Lillian. The Henry T Metz connection to me is tenuous at best. By grandfather's name was also Elmer, he is buried in Clinton, IL. I know he had a brother named Henry who would be in this age range but have not connected them up solidly. Henry would have been from DeSoto, MO, and his father would be J. Valentine Metz. I am going to sign up for the 14 day free Ancestry.com and see what I can shake out. I am doing the 7 day free trial at newspapers.com and have found no link to this Henry T. and grandpa Elmer. Thanks for your help.

I saw you posted photos of Henry T and Elmer H (?) Metz. I think Henry T was my great uncle and Elmer was his son. Noticeably similar headstones. Do you recall if there were any other Metz' near by - as in a family plot?
Thank you for photographing the memorial of my relative

Hello, I was wondering if you would be so kind as to transfer the memorial for Dorothy C Picarelli to me. She was the mother of my boss and I'm trying to get all his family set up and linked etc. Her memorial # is 102955669 - my member id is #47485312. Thank you very much!

Thank you for your message. You are the only one who has taken the time to comment. It is appreciated. I'm also loving the feature - transcribing photos - though it must be said I've only a few and doubt they'll be transcribed. Best wishes from Cardiff, Wales, UK.
