Bio and Links
Bio Photo It seems no matter where my family lived growing up we always lived within walking distance of a very old small cemetery. I grew up taking many walks through the cemeteries and reading the enscriptions on the old headstones and wondering what thier lives were like. So when I found this website I thought it was GREAT! I became a find a grave volunteer photographer and really enjoy traveling to all of the cemeteries around Iowa. I don't think many people are aware of the different kinds of unusual cemeteries there are out there! A little about what I do when I get a photo request: I first look to see if there are many in that cemetery listed on find a grave and I print out the list if it isn't very long. Then I go and take photos of not only the one requested but also of any others listed for that cemetery that do not yet have a gravestone listed. I will post the photo. If I have posted one on one of your ancestors and you don't want it there please just let me know and I will remove it! Also I take any photos of head stones with the same last name of the person requested and send them to the requestor if they are not listed on find a grave. The reason I do this is maybe the requestor doesn't know their ancestor is buried in that cemetery or they haven't gotten around to posting that person yet. This way they will have the photo when they decide to post them. Also if I have posted a photo of a headstone on your site please be sure to click on the photo because I always write down what the headstone says. Sometimes a given name might be spelled differently or the dates might be different from what the person has posted. And I will post what ever scripture might be on the stone that I can make out.

Photos at strawberry Point
Thank you for the photos of Hennessy and Talcott at Strawberry Point cemetery. I really like the wide angle shot you have put on also. It puts it all into relation relative to the one marker.
Good job! Thank you.

Thank you so much, I so appreciate that you found this tombstone! The photo of the group of Glass tombstones is great also. Philip is my great uncle and buried next to his grandparents.I see a second tombstone to the left of Glass tombstone & that must be Leo's, which I just see got his photo added also. Thank you for the listing the names on the group photo. My great grandfather's name is in burial records, as being present for Leo's burial.
I found only one record for Philip's existence, so this means a lot.
Thank you again.

Thanks so much for taking this picture for me. I'm so glad the stone is not broken. Once they fall down like that, they seem to get broken and then you can't read then any more. Thanks for your help. Geo

Thank you so much for the pictures for Martha and George! I guess from the pictures they are on the same headstone. Someday hopefully I can get up there and clean that up a little. Thanks again!
