Thanks very much for the head's up on the supplementary info. If you are related to a Tommy Land, he is a member of our research network, but for personal reasons has not been able to attend. Please let me know privately if there is a connection, or if this is just a coincidence, delete this message.

Pleasant Joe Statham #82409429
Hi, John, came across his WWI draft registration card: Pleasant Joseph Statom, born 27 Jun 1888 in Langdale, Alabama. Thought I'd pass that on.

Joseph J. Shippey
In referring to Joseph J. Shippey, father of William A. Shippey, I left out the letter "t" in his middle name. The name should be Joseph Johnston Shippey.

William A. Shippey
The wife of William Alonzo Shippey is May Preston Shippey (b. May 28, 1862, d. April 10, 1939), who is buried at Kerrville Presbyterian Cemetery in Shelby County, Tennessee. Their son, William A. Shippey (b. Jan. 12, 1898, d. June 21, 1933) is also buried at Kerrville Presbyterian Cemetery. The S. J. Shippey you refer to is indeed Samuel J. Shippey, the son of Joseph Johnson Shippey and Martha Ann Hamer Shippey. Samuel is also buried at Enigma Cemetery. You can find photos of the graves of May Preston Shippey and William A. Shippey (son) on Find A Grave. I also do not know where William Alonzo Shippey, Sr., is buried. I searched diligently at Engima Cemetery but found no tombstone with his name on it. He and his family around the turn of the last century were living in the countryside near Enigma, Georgia.--Herbert P. Shippey

Wiley Sizemore
Hi John,

Thanks for the note on Wiley - I created this memorial for him as it's a cenotaph. I didn't know for certain that #77494820 was him, but if you're sure, I'll connect it.
