Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am retired and enjoy working on genealogy as a hobby. I have a masters degree from the University of Oklahoma and I'm using my research skills to hunt down my ancestors.
www.findagrave.com is a terrific web site.
My ancestors include but are not limited to:
Allison, Campbell, Morris, Johnson, Holdsworth, Baird, Kirkpatrick, Phillippi, Worley, Sweeney, Vaught, Watson, Dale, Wheeler, Hoyt, Newman

I make an effort to connect husbands, wives and families using obituaries and census records.

As many of you know, I have spent hours taking photos in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City in order to create memorials. I also do research in the Oklahoma Historical Society Library for some of my memorials.

Member: Oklahoma Historical Society, National Trust for Historic Preservation, Civil War Trust, Friends of Mt Vernon, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, National Women's History Museum, Pulaski Co KY Historical Society, Cornerstone Genealogical Society (PA), Morrow Co OH Genealogical Society, Osborne Co KS Historical Society.

Use the "Suggest a Correction" feature on the appropriate memorial to submit information or any requests. I follow the Find-A-Grave guidelines regarding the transfer of memorials. Any transfer requests should only be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Janet,

We are going back to Little Sandusky Cemetery maybe sometime in June where I know you have a couple other photo requests. We didn't have any luck the last time we were there but will look again.

You're very welcome! I only wish I could have gotten a picture of the entire stone. I took three pictures altogether but they all had a small portion of the stone out of the shot. The sun was positioned in a very difficult spot that day. It was a pleasure though! Take care :)

We plan on going back to the cemetery to see what we can find but if nothing is there, I will use your suggestion. Thanks

Janet,

Thanks so very much for all your efforts. At least now I know more than I knew before. I really don't have any contact with the family but will try to contact someone and see what I come up with.

I know what you mean by poor cemetery records. We have read 3 obituaries for my husband's family (all with the same last name) and all 3 obits say that these people were buried in Chapel Heights Memorial Gardens near Marion, Ohio in 1949, 1951, and 1979. I called that cemetery last Fall and we stopped at the office just last week and were told there is no one there by that name. When I got home I started to look at children's names that were in the last obit and found out that one of their daughters was just buried there at the beginning of May. I am going to check with the funeral home and see if she might have been buried near her parents even though the last name is different. I have a map of the cemetery so if they can give me a section that might help. I love the investigative part of this but not when the records don't seem to exist.

Thanks again for all of your help. I do appreciate your time.

Thomas Charles Wood
Thank you so much for posting the photo for my great grandfather, Thomas Charles Wood, a WWII soldier. My great grandmother (his widow) Alberta Wood died June 11, 1990 in OKC but I can't find any information on her whatsoever. She was born August 15th, 1897. Any information you can find on her would be greatly appreciated.

Again, thanks for posting TC's gravesite pic. I'm truly thankful since I live in Washington State and have never seen it in person.

RE: Barbara V. Lovelock Brown
I do not know anything, other than he died around 1984 and was several years older than she was.

Barbara V. Lovelock Brown
I am writing to tell you Barbara Victoria Lovelock Brown, a resident of Lafollette in Campbell County, TN, died on May 3, 2015. A memorial service was held at St. Francis Episcopal Church, Norris, TN, on Saturday, May 23, 2015. She had been a member of the church for several years.
The link for her father's memorial is # 75879411. Her mother's memorial is # 75879699.
She was married in 1960 to Capt. J.H. "Brownie" Brown of American Airlines, who she met while working as a stewardess there (since 1952). He predeceased in 1984 and there were no children.
She had lived in Campbell County, TN, since her retirement.
I am a 'find a grave' contributor and was acquainted with Mrs. Brown through the church, where I serve as an organist. In fact I played at her memorial service. It's my understanding that after cremation her remains would be interred where her parents are in Oklahoma. I am hopeful this information is helpful.
Respectfully,
James Brent (LPJim)
