Thanks so much, Ellie, for taking the time to take the great photo of Daniel Pettit's headstone. I truly appreciate it, and I know that the rest of the family will too!
Your contribution to Find-A-Grave is so very appreciated!

RE: Robert Orlen Matlock
Hi Ellie! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to answer your message. I haven't been doing much genealogy work lately and I just saw it in findagrave. You asked me where Hall cemetery is.

It is a very small country cemetery about 12 miles north of Stroud, OK on highway 99 and then about 3 miles east and about 1/2 mile north. It is very hard to find and very unkept. It is usually overgrown with bushes and weeds. People probably pass it on the road everyday and don't even know it's there.

There is no sign or nameplate on the cemetery. A distant cousin of mine, Ron Johnston, who has been researching the Matlocks for many years, is the one who told me that the cemetery is called Hall cemetery. I don't know where he got this information.

Robert Orlen Matlock was my dad's stepfather and great-uncle.

I'm a decendant of Robert Orlen's sister Mary Elizabeth Matlock McKinney through her son Robert Douglas McKinney.

Robert Douglas McKinney died very young and after his death his widow, my grandmother, married his uncle Robert Orlen Matlock, who was a widower with seven children.

You also asked me about the spelling of Elizabeth Matlock's name. I believe her name is misspelled on her headstone because after her husband's death she filed some affadavits when she applied for her husband's Civil War pension. I'm not sure if it's actually her handwriting or not but her name is spelled Elizabeth Matlock on those affadavits.

Please feel free to contact me about these. I would love to hear from you. I will share with you whatever information that I have on the Matlocks. You may contact me at csmckinney4454@sbcglobal.net.

Have a nice day!

RE: Butlers in Osborne, KS
Thanks Ellie for the offer to transfer. I am not related. I have been going thru the Pleasant Valley Cemetery record I have and letting people know concerning dates or links to parents/spouse.
It just makes the Cemetery listing more complete. I appreciate you updating so quickly.

Thanks-L.B.

RE: William Albert Whisenand
Ellie,

I could not even find a William Albert Whisenand listed Rose Hill on the Find A Grave web site. Am I overlooking something? I'm confused.

No, we are not related. I read old newspapers and when I run across the obituaries, I try to get them to their rightful memorials so the information will not be lost. Thank you for adding. Nancy

RE: Gallion family
I had thought you were through the Weddle, Weddel, Whatever line because of the colaterals you had posted all lead back to them. Interesting family lines to research. Supposedly Amos was American Revolution, have you found any info on that? I have my DARs from other lines but it would be nice to add him.

RE: Charles Martin
Thanks for your response---just a quick question. Are you related to the Gallions of Jackson County, Indiana? They are my mothers family and I have the pictures you request from the Gallion Cemetery. I will scan as soon as I dig out the photo boxes.
