I am a nurse living in Hanover, Virginia, trained in Orthopaedics, Total Joint Replacements, and Pain Management. Giving good help to those in need is my passion for nursing.|
I got started in full-time genealogy research in 2002. I enjoy researching my family genealogy. Maternal line of interest includes: Archer, Austin, Brooks, Funn, Ryland, Taylor, and Word. Paternal line of interest includes: Vaughan and Rollins.
I have listed local cemetery grave sites in Richmond, Virginia and surrounding areas, obtained from local newspaper obituaries and local funeral home Web sites.
Thanks to those who have placed cemetery photos and flowers at my family memorials.

Sent you a SAC Tue., Dec 29 16:29, no news yet.
...cannot find the location for this grave...
It appears that the information came from an obituary. Can you please verify that he is in the correct cemetery? As you can see a search of the Veterans Administration Nationwide Gravesite Locator does not show him in any veterans cemetery.
Thanks, Sue 47347066

The wording for burial @ Mayo Baptist Church in Roxboro is confusing. Mayo Chapel Cem., CHristie, Halifax Co., VA was used for older burials for the most part. More recent burials were @ Calvary Baptist Church Cem., Roxboro, NC I did not find Mangum M. Martin on a list of burial @ Mayo Chapel Cem., He did reside in Henrico County, VA

I was wondering if you are related or just a kind volunteer. You have posted flowers to several of my family, but no indication as to why. I would like to thank you for your service. Also, wondering if you know how to get records from the archive. My Great grandmother, Susan Land Stone and Uncle Jack Stone are buried in Wayfare, unmarked graves. I would think that there should be a record indicating the location of their graves. Any help would be appreciated.

Joyce I sent their photos and also their locations and William's middle name in an edit. Martha

Would you like photos of their headstones added to their memorials. Martha

Thank you, Ms. Vaughn. You are kind to offer to transfer the Memorial to me. I am interesting in having the Memorials for the assorted Waddy Family members, if that is possible: Julia (40559997), who is referred to as "Sis Julia" in my Waddy Family records; Abner (40574199), who is the namesake for my Great Great Uncle Abner Pleasants Wilde; Garland Thompson Waddy (40559399), who is my Great Great Great Grandfather; George Tyler Waddy (40559860), who appears to have been the black sheep of the Waddy siblings - at least based on his bankruptcy and assorted legal actions taken against him; Sophia Ann Pleasants Waddy (40559458), my Great Great Great Grandmother, who raised his grandsons and who was well known to my grandmother and her sisters; Elizabeth Jordan Waddy Wilde (40559328), who is my Great Great Grandmother but who was abandoned by her husband and lost her mind in consequence; and Amanda (40559948). I realize my request is a tall order, and I will certainly understand if it is too much at one go.
My mother commissioned the Elk Creek Baptist Church grave stone for these Waddy family members, along with that of Woodson Waddy, in 1986. The graves were left at what had once been Oak Hill. She had plans to continue her work on her Waddy-Wilde ancestry, but dementia overtook those plans. I am now retired and feel I might contribute to my mother's love of family by continuing what she began. I hope to weave in family details based on the records my mother put aside for me.
Thank you, again, for your kind offer.

Hi Joyce, I wrote you earlier about my Vaughan family question on Mary Elizabeth Vaughan in your tree. I have found these are two different ladies and not the same Vaughan family. I thought there for a minute I had found her and sorry to take your time. Keep up your good work. Hettie

Hi Joyce, I am a member of the Vaughan family of Caroline, King and Queen, Chesterfield (Ettrick/Matoaca areas)counties. I am working on my John Jefferson Vaughan line of Caroline county and believe I have found a brother for him, Richard, who also served in the civil war. His wife's name was Mary Elizabeth Vaughan but maiden name not known so far. Age would also fit but younger than Richard, still that's appropriate for that era. They were married 1852 (I have marriage document). Could this be the same one buried here in the Vaughan Family Cemetery? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Hettie (SM on FB acct)

Joyce, I think my memory is playing tricks on me. Just after I sent my earlier message, I think I remember we talked a couple of years ago and discovered we are not related after all.
