Bio and Links
I have added these memorials, mostly from the historic cemeteries of Charleston to memorialize all the individuals who have contributed to Charleston's past.

In the event a photo of a headstone is not included, it generally means that the memorial information was taken from a cemetery transcription or death record. One of those who did the transcription was Elizabeth C. Curtis. Without her efforts cemeteries such as Trinity United Methodist and Old Third Central Presbyterian Cemetery records would not be included or available since neither of the above church exists today, including the cemetery and headstones. I just found out yesterday January 21, 2010 that internments of Old Third Central Presbyterian Church Cemetery have been moved to Riverview Memorial in Charleston. There are others who did transcriptions, but I am not aware who they are. If someone knows, I would be glad to acknowledge them in this profile.

Some of the headstones at the Circular Church were impossible to read, however the church had previously documented many of the graves sites by plot #'s. In those cases where I could not read the headstone I used the information from the church records found at the Charleston library to identify the headstones. I did list the plots #'s on the majority of the memorials.

A special thanks to the work of Clare Jervey published in 1906 with the transcription of St. Michael's. Her transcription allowed me to include much that was unreadable.

Photo Approval
Thank you so much for taking pictures of several of my family members' tombstones, primarily Hunt, and posting them on Find A Grave. I would like approval to use your photos in my family tree.

Thank you,
Sharon Garrison

Find-A-Grave Memorial #126256891 is a duplicate of Memorial #8001247 for Betty Wildman, which--as you can see from the photograph--is what is on her gravestone. Since the memorial created by LMJ was created in 2003 and I have found that people who create memorials first are extremely reluctant to remove them, perhaps you can request that LMJ transfer it to you if it is a family member. If not, perhaps you can have her incorporate the additional information you have on yours. Thank you.

Taussig, part II
So I see that the Taussig memorials that you created have quite a few notes left on them. So maybe ... instead of having duplicates or getting rid of yours, what if I get rid of mine but have you transfer yours to me so that I can fix my family connections to them.

??

Taussig at US Naval Academy
Hi. I am sorry to ask you this question, but I just learned that I have had my family member listed at the wrong cemetery since 2009. I had Edward David Taussig and his wife (Ellen Knefler) listed at Arlington National Cemetery.

I just read that they were at the Naval Academy and moved them there .... only to find out that you have already added them.

I have so many family links to their memorials and wonder if I might impose on you to remove just Edward David and his wife. I did not know that their son was there, so I had not entered him at all.

I feel so bad asking you to do this, but I am hoping you will consider it.

Thanks so much,

Margaret Tomer Rummens (tomer.tribalpages.com)

I'm sorry. I recently added Ceclia Lafitte Brux DeLaigle, and then saw you had her.

Hello... I've picked up the correction message from yourself but I can only find one record that I've created for the above.... could you let me know where the duplicate is please and I'll correct it.
Many thanks

George W. Vanderbilt (#130329385)
A helpful photo volunteer (Jackie Territo, #48072787) at Moravian Cemetery just informed me that the Vanderbilt section where he is buried is not accessible to the general public. Would it be possible to make a note of this on his memorial page?

Helen J. E. Thurston Hubbard
Hello,
You have linked Helen J. E. Thurston Hubbard to the wrong mother. Helen J. E. Thurston Hubbard was the daughter of Daniel Thurston and Jane Shackley. She was not the daughter of Caleb Thurston and Jane Sargent. I submitted an edit suggestion to you stating that she was not the daughter of Jane Sargent Thurston to which you have assigned.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you very much for correcting this (Caleb and Jane are my direct ancestors).
Thanks again,
Clair Cushman
