I live in North Central Texas. My roots go back to Ireland, Germany, France and other countries I'm unsure of. They arrived in Texas via Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee with names like Brown, Chastain, Brooks, Brooke and Moore.|
If you find a mistake on any of my inputs, please let me know; I want to correct it. Let me know if you have additional information; I will gladly add it to the memorial in a timely manner. If you are family, I will transfer it to you even if it is not directly in your line (Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, etc.)because I believe that family belongs with family.
If I inadvertently duplicate one of your memorials, let me know and I will delete immediately if not sooner.
Feel free to use my pictures, etc. on other websites, but please, have the courtesy and scruples to give me credit for them.
PLEASE do not post pictures of death certificates or newspaper clippings of obituaries on any of my memorials. Other pictures are welcome as long as they pertain to the subject person and are NOT PICTURES OF DOCUMENTS. If you wish to add obituary information, send it to me through "Suggest a Correction".
I just love the contributors who are sticklers about staying with FAG guidelines when it comes to not transfering memorials outside a straight line but routinely add bio information with their flowers instead of forwarding it to the owner of the memorial per FAG policy.

I'm not sure what that means ?? Did you start her memorial? If you did Thank You . Or do you do the ones in The Loving Cemetary? But yes I would like that. I'll always take care of it. . She was very much into Geneology and finding graves . She would even go on her lunch hour. I miss her every day.
DNA points to Memorial# 14542239 as direct line. Still looking!

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for all the work you've done on the descendants of William Crawford Brooks. It has been very helpful in my own research efforts. I really appreciate all the obituaries and photographs you took.
I assume that you are a descendant, as I worked my way into a line of the Brown family at one point, which perhaps you're tied to. I am a descendant of William's brother Thomas Jefferson Brooke, so I suppose we must be distant cousins. Anyhow, thanks again for the significant contributions you've made to the family research!

I am interested in the book: Brooks Family History (History of L. P. Brooks Ancestors & Descendants) 1795-1979 - complied by Barbara Brooks Weir.
Ralph Brooks is my grandfather, and to see the name flip flopped from Brooks to Brooke is interesting, Granddaddy and Uncle Raymond were the only ones to carry that last name among his siblings and to also find out about Canton, Ga my 5th great grand donated land and I grew up in the next county...

Suggest a correction for Josiah Wash Brown - I am family. There is no evidence that Wash Brown was born in Riceville. The 1850 census does confirm Tennessee. Written family stories indicate he was born in Knox co, Tenn. For now it would be best to just list his place of birth as Tennessee.

Hello. I am an avid genealogist, and just wanted to say that occasionally I have found a photo of the original obituary on one of my ancestor's memorial, and was thrilled to find it, so I could add it to my Ancestry page for them, and in my files, as well as being able to forward it to other family members. I was sad to read that you don't like them on your memorials, when I have found them so useful to me and my family to save forever.
Thank you for all your hard work for this great and valuable site! God Bless!
