Bio Photo 2013
I was born and raised in the oil fields of the Texas Panhandle, and since we did not live near either my father's or mother's family, I grew up thinking we had a very small family. After I retired, I started tracing my father's family, which, except for his immediate family, I knew very little about. I thought this would be a simple project, however, it turned into a huge project that both my husband and I love pursuing, and it keeps growing.

As we travel, we stop at any cemetery we are near (and sometimes not so near) where we know there are family members and photograph their graves and those of others who might be related (or not). All of these are added to Find A Grave to share with others.

Please feel free to use the photos I have posted on any Find A Grave memorial, BUT please give credit to my husband by showing "photo by Bill Lewis". We take them to share with others but ask that you be courteous about their use.

If you would like a memorial transferred, please ask, and if you are more closely related or it is someone that is not our family, I will be happy to transfer it.

Please DO NOT add death certificates to the memorials I have created. This is not the place for death certificates - it is a place to honor the lives of those who have gone before us.

Also, please DO NOT add obituaries or documents in the photo section. E-mail them to me and I will add them to the bio section.

RE: Roddie & Florence Lane
We vacation up there once a week each year and I have tried to help out with all the photo requests. It's a really big cemetery! I have about 350 people to enter once I get the time and I know quite a few of them are Lane family members.

You certainly may use the memorials for your husbands tree. Glad I could add them to the memorials for family viewing and use.

This is great information! Thank you!! I tried to go in and remove the "problem reported" note, but I guess it has to be fulfilled. Unfortunately, for right now, it is a tad too hot for me to be able to get out in the cemetery, but I will work to get this added. Thanks a bunch!

Happy to try - if you find any more clues, PM me and I'll see what I can find. Nothing is ringing a bell for me, but I'll keep this on my radar screen, too. I did check Leesburg Pres and Limestone Brethren, which are the two nearest burial grounds serving that general area - no luck.

Thanks for catching my typo. These old fingers hit the wrong keys sometime.

RE: Arthur Ray Corley
Agreed, who would take a headstone, at least from a town cemetery? However, one of my hobbies is exploring and photographing nearby ghost towns. Headstones have been taken and also defaced (shot with rifles and shotguns). Some gravesites have been attempted to be dug with a shovel. Unbelievable.

Bear in mind however, it is not a 100% positive the base for the headstone is the one of Arthur. All we know for sure is it is in the right area, and from old cemetery records that Arthur is buried in the Panaca cemetery.

Reuben Brown
Thank you for finding where Reuben Brown's final resting place was. I have transferred Reuben to you. It doesn't matter who posts our kin folk, the main thing is to honor those who went before us, that they are not forgotten.
Blessings,
Lorraine
