Re: Reuben Hedger
Hi Buddy,
You list Jonathan Hedger as the father of Reuben Hedger # 65540888 in Reuben's biography. However, Jonathan's will lists only four sons: George, Jonathan, Sanford, and Jacob. He lists a Reuben Hedger as a Witness. I think this is his brother, born about 1768, who lived in Harrison County, KY in 1810. Jonathan also had a brother Stephen, born about 1765. They were all sons of Stephen Hedger, born about 1743. I think Reuben Hedger # 65540888 may be the son of Stephen Hedger or Reuben Hedger. They each have a son of Reuben's age in the 1810 Census.

Do you have any documentation for showing Reuben as Jonathan's son? I would be very interested in seeing what you have!

Thanks,
Beth Hedger

Paula Noisworthy Haas
Miller/Childers family
I am Paula Noisworthy Haas and my Childers/Miller family is buried at Hargis in addition to their siblings and children.
In 2008, I took the pictures that are now on the site (thank you for doing that) and finally persuaded the Shawnee National Forest to clean a path to the cemetery or otherwise it would be lost to future generations.
In 2010, they gathered a group of volunteers as well as my family and we spent the day cleaning the cemetery. Lost graves were found and I gave a historian as much history as I knew.
Has anyone been up there since then? I had a massive brain injury and am now able to go there again. The forest service needs to be contacted but the people that were in charge have moved on.
I would love to see the cemetery taken care of but the forest service had to be persuaded to do this the last time.
I hope to hear from you!
Paula
