RE: Robert McCollum
There are a number of other cemeteries in the area where he could have been interred ... If I find anything else out then I will let you know.

Rebecca McCarty
Probably just a coincidence with no connection, but my grandfather Ralph Dawson married a Marie Maples in Macon County, Mo. who on the marriage license is under 21 and lists a guardian named Rebecca McCarty as giving assent to the marriage.

May be just a coincidence but it is interesting that my step-grandmother's name was given as Maples with a guardian Rebecca McCarty when your Rebecca McCarty was married to a Maples.

RE: Memorial number
Thanks for the memorial number. I was curious about why this one would be maintained by Find A Grave. Was William a famous person?

Enoch McCarty Sr.
Mike I have noticed you have worked steadily in the McCarty family. I have ties into the family through Enoch b.1753. His son Enoch Jr. had a son Jonathan or John ? b.1825 who married Mary Elizabeth Roper and they had a daughter Mary Martha. Mary Martha married James William Johnson. They had a son Samuel Johnson, my grandfather. This is my lineage but I am trying to locate data on Enoch Sr. & Jr. Do you know any information on these family ties, and if so, if you just point a direction I can take, I would appreciate any help. thanks. Mike,

Thanks so much for the additional information. I have a friend who did live outside of Morristown, but is now in Virginia. She goes back quite regularly to the area though, and is very involved in the genealogy/historical societies there. She has many contacts who have been there since forever. I'm going to send her this information and ask her to see what she may be able to come up with the next time she's there. You never know . . . She's found cemeteries there that I would never even known existed. One of them is at the back of a guy's property and was seriously overgrown, brambles and the whole bit. She convinced him to let her go back there and find markers of my Ivy/Ivey branch. I don't think you have them in your tree, do you?

RE: Marvin V McCarty
Yes, he is buried in Nevada, Texas as my wife and I attended the funeral. He has family in Indiana and they apparently put a headstone for him up there, but he is actually located in Texas.
