I started researching my family history after my mother died from a hereditary disease but got hooked and have been climbing the family tree for over 30 years. I hope I have contributed to the family history for generations to come.|
I am a volunteer with the Portage Community Historical Society and they have allowed me to have a genealogy and historical research area in the Goin Museum. If you have an early Portage Township family, consider donating a copy of your family history to our museum.
My Favorite Poem
A Daisy Beside the Rose
by Diana Sue Lindley Horton
Among the many flowers, God,
Within Your garden fair,
May I, a simple daisy be
So proudly standing there.
I need not be the most admired,
Great beauty to disclose;
It's certain in Your garden,God,
Not all can be a rose.
'Twould be to me an honor,
If where Your garden grows,
I could but be a daisy -
That stands beside the rose.

|Thelma Kifer||Union Cemetery|
There are several cemeteries in Clarion Cty, that have Union in them. The only other one that I know of that is sometimes called Union would be in Shannondale, and its is Zion Lutheran sometimes called Union. Yours belong in Knox Union in Knox, Clarion Cty, PA.
|Thelma Kifer||Robert Schies|
I will delete mine, but you need to go back in and change all the Schies from just Union to Knox Union Cemetery per their obituaries.
|AZLITE||Charles F Cowsert|
Thank you so very much for providing the obituary for Charles. I am always so happy to receive additional information for my memorials and especially so if it includes an obituary. I have added it and given you a big thanks for contributing it. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Writing on back "D.P. Blake taken March 1868".
Photographer is Mandeville, Valparaiso, IN.
This was in a group of photos I bought from an eBayer in Seattle in 2006. There were no other Blake photos in the group.
|Russ C||RE: Lampton|
I think it is OK. I sent corrections to the person who did the memorials for the parents. Margaret's, the mom, didn't have her birthdate and it is on the stone. And her year of death should have been a decade earlier. The stone of Robert, the dad, also has a death year way different than what that person did in the memorial. It should have been 1891.
I think the other Lampton children are in the same cemetery as their parents but Anne (d. 1856) has the best details in the memorial!
