Thank you for alerting me to the name on her stone. She is listed in the Smith Mountain transcription list as Anna Garnet (w/one t) and I think since I wasn't sure if Garnet was a middle name or maiden name, I left it off.

I went ahead and changed her memorial to reflect what's on the stone and I put "Anna" as a nickname.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Kathy

Thank you for taking time out of your day to locate the grave and upload a snapshot for the site. Its nice to pinpoint a month/year of death. At some point I'll be compiling a small write-up on his life later on for an Oklahoma land-rush paper (he was there before he migrated to the area, as well as TX/TN) so every little bit helps.

Thank you so much for posting a picture! I was out in the cemetery last year looking for his head stone. I went into the office and asked questions. They sent a care taker out and he poked around where the stone should have been but came up with nothing. I am so pleased to see that they gave him a new stone. Robert had a county burial. Again, thank you sooooo much!!

Josiah Lovelist Daniel #54800265
Hi Mr. Webber,

According to the bio on Josiah Daniel's memorial page, his body was taken to Rustburg for burial. Are you sure he's buried in the Jesse Overstreet Cemetery? That cemetery is not in Rustburg, it's in the Thaxton/Irving area. I was curious about his death because his wife Lizzie is my distant cousin and I found a death record for one of their sons named Dennis Earl Daniel. The death records shows Dennis was born in 1916 which is after his father Josiah's death according to his bio. The death record is signed by Josiah (J.L.Daniel). Thanks for any help you can give me.

RE: Karl T. Deaton
You are welcome. It's likely that one of the office staff answered my inquiry for locations. Sometimes they can give me bad info. Overall, though, the office and staff are gracious and quick to answer--even offering to put a flag on grave sites I can't find (usually they are unmarked).

This cemetery has over 200,000 grave sites; and this administration also takes care of Belmont Cemetery and the Old Fourth Creek Burying Ground in Statesville.

One of my volunteer friends has not been treated so well in the Salisbury area city cemeteries.

Regards,
Joy Steele

I have found him and others. Photos for him and his wife have been added. I still have a few more to finish.

Joy

RE: Karl T. Deaton
This week I'll check out Section G for you and question the cemetery office about their answer to me, too. Also, I'll be photographing your requested Mary Deaton as well as James McNeely Deaton, son Paul and his wife Evelyn, and other Deaton memorials that I find at Oakwood that need a photo.

I usually take photos of all the gravesites in a family unless their memorial already has a photo. Are there other Deatons interred at Oakwood that are not yet on Find a Grave's Oakwood Cemetery, Statesville, NC?

Regards,
Joy

I have deleted one of the two memorials I created for him. I don't know how I did that? Thanks for alerting me.
