Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a belgian living in the Verdun area of France , I live about 10 minutes from the Romagne sous Montfaucon cemetery of Lorraine --

I just finished taking pictures in the Meuse Argonne cemetery , and will continue in Hamm luxembourg ---Once finished I intend to go to Saint Mihiel , St Avold and Belleau -to take pictures of all the markers there ... I try to do the smaller british cemeteries on my way through France and Belgium ..

Sometimes adding a complete graveyard isn t possible , as often there are headstones missing due to replacement or the stones are in very bad condition and cannot be read ---but I always try to get them done as complete as possible , so please forgive me if sometimes a few pictures are missing --because it isn t always possible to do a return journey .

Sorry to have to ask, but...
***Please don't take my photos and claim them as your own work***

Allow me to post them.
and please don t add more names in the Meuse Argonne site , all the names are there-

Remember to double-click on photos to get a larger and clearer view

small contributions towards my volunteer work in Panama are allways very welcome--This is the website where you can add a few pennies

I play a barrel organ in the streets which allows me to go 3 months a year for volunteering work in a primary school in Paso Ancho Panama ---the school has 85 percent poor indigena children --I am not doing this with an organisation but pay for all my expenses myself

I will be travelling to Panama again next spring

Sydney Sutcliffe -Cabaret Rouge Cemetery
I am researching names on my local war memorial and Sydney Sutcliffe, Royal Flying Corp is one of them. May I use your photographs for my website and possibly a book? I would give you full credit for the photos.
Thank you

I am writing a book on my grandfather's unit in WWI. I was extremely pleased to see you had photographed these two soldier markers. In the fall I will visit. Can I have permission to use the images until I photograph them myself? If you see other names associated with the 318th Field Hospital I would greatly appreciate a note. Thanks in advance, Thomas

Tried to email on your supplied email address but bounced back.
Dear Soilsister I would not claim any photo of yours or others who have taken the time and trouble to go to these places and do exactly as I am doing. I have visited(except in the Middle East) all the graves of the Sittingbourne Lads (have been as far as Gallipoli) and will display them here . I have Bertie and Ernest, his brother photos grave and soldier, and have been doing this for many years. My project is to place all the lads eventually on this site but will take time as I am producing a memorial book for this year as well, throughout the next few years to 2020 (1920) when some had died of wounds, resulting from gassing etc.

Keep up the good work ,Helen

Thank you for taking a photo of Crprl James M Henington's grave in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departmente de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. He is a cousin to me, and I was very pleased to find this photo. I plan to post this to my family blog, and will credit you for this photo.

Meuse-Argonne Photo...and thank you. :)
You were so kind to take the photos of the grave of my great-uncle, Louis Henry Chaplain.

I would like to thank you again, and invite you to look at the only photo we know of or have of him. :)

You can share with us the bittersweet oy of knowing the face of a man who died in WWI, and who is buried in Europe forever. :..)

Thank you again, so sincerely!!

Sincere thank you
I just realized I neglected to thank you for the lovely photos you posted from Aisne-Marne American Cemetery and Memorial. One of my cousin's, Clair Otis Lewiston, is listed on the Tablets of the Missing and I thank you very much for posting the photo!

All the best,
