I am an enthusiastic genealogist and got into graving when I started looking for my ancestors. I have since branched out and started doing graves of non-family members. Graving has turned into my second obsession. I am an active volunteer with the cemeteries here in El Dorado County and love every minute of it. I am the FAG County Keeper for El Dorado County, CA and am really enjoying it. Unfortunately, many of our graveyards throughout this country are suffering from disuse and neglect. I've found that Find-a-Grave is a great way to help preserve graves and cemeteries and also provides a way for people to visit their ancestors or friends even though they can't visit the graves in person.|
I recently married a wonderful lady named Sherida, who, it turns out, is also great in cemeteries. We now have a partnership in Findagrave.com. Now isn't that a wonderful match?
To error is human, so if you find any errors, or if you have additional information on anyone I've entered into Find-a-Grave, please contact me via the "Suggest a Correction" tab so I can correct it. Thank You.

|Rolaine Grant King||Llewellyn was a Petty|
Llewellyn was son of second husband, Robert C Petty and not of first marriage as in the New Harmony remembrances of LaVerna Taylor Englestead who was descendant of Mary's sister Julia Aner Carbine with whom she shared Julia's husband William Warren Taylor and had 3 additional sons.
Llewellyn was lost on trail west from Winter Quarters as noted in Woodrow Woodruff trail diary. Some histories have tried to bend Llewellyn into Ella but Ella was Eleanor.
From family search:
! MARRIAGE: 30 Aug 1850 Winter Quarters, Douglas, Nebraska !Int. Soc. Daughters of UT Pioneers 27 SEP 1995 !WAGONTRAIN: came to Salt Lake valley with Wilford Woodruff Company 14 Oct 1850 . Pay was determined by amount of postage sold and in those days a postcard cost 1 penny From Ancestral File (TM), data as of 2 January 1996. Story Written by Daughter Emily Adelia Grant Neilson Mary Adelia Carbine was born Feb 29 1824 at Cairo, Greene, New York. She was a graduate of a girls seminary, and began teaching in her fifteenth year. She continued in that profession until her fiftieth year. Ever a student aiming to learn some new fact each day of her life. I was unable to obtain the exact date of her joining the Latter Day Saint Church, but some time in her early teens, She with her father, mother, a brother, and sister Julia joined the church and moved to Nauvoo, where she met Amos Northup, and soon after they were married in the Nauvoo Temple. Her oldest daughter Eugena, was born just before the saints were driven from Nauvoo. Shortly after they reached Winter Quarters, Mary's young husband was murdered by an unknown assaliant, on Christmas day, until her death she grieved at Christmas time for her first and greatest love. Left alone, and not knowing where to turn, she married Robert C. Petty, just before the saints left Winter Quarters. He was made Captain of the company of which Wilford Woodruff was in command. To Mary and Robert Petty were born three children . Llewellyn the first was left in a grave by a lonely trail. Later came three little girls, Adelia and Ella, and Eleanor. There were many trials, and privations, thrilling and almost unbelieveable experiences--Indians-- wild cattle--camping on buffalo trails--fording turbulent streams but ever looking forward with faith to the end of the trail, which was to them a veritable promised land. Shortly after they reached Utah, Robert Petty was called on a mission. The oldest girl Adelia, was about three years old, and Ella a babe in arms. His mission was in what was known as Indian territory, There he died in 1856, which fact Mary, his wife, did not learn until some six months later when an emigrant party arrived. Later she Married George Grant, to them were born two children. A little girl Francesca who was scalded to death in infancy, and a boy Edmund Carbine GrantLess

Hello Paul and Sherida,
My hubby and I were going through the records of the headstones/graves in the Grizzly Flats Cemetery, and I have discovered two duplicates. There is a picture for one of them and its duplicate has no picture. The names of the duplicates are:
Edward Rutledge Morey 1916-1975
Elwood Morey 1892-1968 (although the dup says 1966)
Hope that helps with the record keeping. Have a great weekend!
Susan and Bob Daniel

Thank you for the info....I am currently working with Arizona relatives to list those folks that have been buried at the "old" Hannon Ranch. The ranch is no longer owned by the Hannon's but the family kept title to the cemetery property.
Appreciate all of the work you folks do.

I have been researching my mother's family for several years. Family history has Leo Haverty Jr. who died just a few days after birth as being buried at the Hannon Cemetery at the former Hannon Ranch seven miles west of Bisbee.
I was able to locate his father Leo Haverty listed in the index for Evergreen Cemetery but not Leo Jr.
Could you provide the source of your information for Leo Haverty Jr?

|Cashie||Pioneer Cemetery, Lone Pine|
Hi, I have dropped you a few edits for a couple of memorials in this cemetery, Evidently the cemetery district has records of a few additional burials in this cemetery and additional information and has added some new wooden markers in the cemetery. I have added photos of the wooden markers and sent edits where needed. Thanks for your work in this cemetery.
