|I started working on my family tree in 2003 and was immediately addicted to genealogy and the importance of preserving tombstone pictures and information for future generations. Some of the individuals and pictures that I have posted are of no connection to me, only a memorial for future generations to treasure. If you find I have made an error or would like to add more information, please email me and put findagrave in the subject line. Families I'm researching CARSON, PARKER, JONES, GRIFFIN, HOWE, FOLEY, O'BOYLE, WILSON AND THEIR DESCENDANTS.|

Hi there..just wanted to say thanks for putting up the picture of my sisters grave. She has been gone for quite a few years but we still miss her.

Bobbie, have you ever come across any mention of the overseer of Foley Plantation named Wm. Arnold? He was working there along with two other overseers when this family came in a covered wagon named McKinney. Their oldest daughter Ellen McKinney or Eleanor McKinney (both) married Wm Arnold. I can't find anything abt him and thought this a good idea to see if you have. You can find my name on site as I am alos a contributor. Judy Mount

Bobbie, I was just reading an artical from the "Rivers of Texas" about the horrible way Tucker Foley had died. My ancestors were the McKinneys and they were living at Foley Plantation at the time of this incident. Apparently, John McKinney (head of the family) had buried Tucker under a big Live Oak tree. John had dug his grave with a butcher knife and wrappped him in a saddle blanket made out of cotton (This report was made by John McKinney's daughter, Ellen.) She says, "When Father found him he was naked, had been scalped, and was hanging in a tree, tied up by his hamstrings. This incident touches me so. That poor man.
In 1845, John McKinney's daughter Ellen, my line, married William W. Arnold, who shortly thereafter became the overseer for Mason Foley, Tucker's brother. Do you by any chance know anything about William Arnold? He is one difficult person to find. I am glad to be part of this man's life, even at a distance and in such a manner. I honor him greatly.

Hey, Bobbie . . .
I'm not related to the Smiths, just trying to link families with the help of Ancestry.com. I have gladly transferred management of H.W. Smith's memorial to you. This is one of my goals....to help folks find other relatives and request management of their memorials!
A while back, you took some photos of the grave stones of Alfred and Martha Ann Oliphant in the Oliphint Sneed Scurlock Cemetery. Would you mind if I posted those to my tree in ancestry.com? I will be more than happy to credit you as the photographer. Thank you. - B. MacBean
