Grave of Rice Gaddis
I live in Erie, PA and am working on a third volume of grave locations for veterans of the War of 1812. I would like your permission to use the picture you posted of Rice Gaddis' grave in this compilation. I will cite you as the source.

Thank you.

RE: John A.H. McGrew
Dear Linda, Thanks for the additional information about the McGrews. I have never been to the cemetery at Hermon. Are any of the other McGrew children that are buried in the Herman Cemetery appear to be children of John and Amanda's? I have to get there sometime. Thanks for all of your help. Baxter

Private John A. H. McGrew, Co. F, 86th Illinois
Dear Linda, My name is Baxter Fite and for the past 26 years I have been trying to track down the 992 men who served in the 86th Regiment of Illinois Volunteer Infantry. During this 26 years, I have located the final resting place of 866 of these men. One of these was, of course, Private John A. H. McGrew. I have recently added quite a bit of material to his Find A Grave site, but, I still have may questions. Somewhere in my records I may have some of this information, I will have to do some more digging. But, it appears to me that you must be a descendant of the McGrew family or at least have quite a lot of interest in the McGrew and wanted to know if you would take a look at what I currently have on his site. If you can help me with any information about John A. H. McGrew, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thanks for all you have done. I am hoping to hear from you in the near future. Sincerely, Baxter
