Bio and Links
Bio Photo I fell in love with cemeteries thru my genealogy endeavors, since headstones are often the only record of birth and death dates that can be found for a person. Please note that I do this to help others who are searching for their family members and as such you have my permission to use any photos which I post on Find-A-Grave in your personal or online family histories. I hope that something that I've posted helps you find that elusive family member.

Mercers/Peninsula Cemetery
Just an fyi to let you know that as part of a upgrade to memorials at Peninsula cemetery in Cooper County, Mo., I have added pics to your memorials for William and Melissa Mercer. If you have, or are interested in, other memorials there, I either already have or will be soon added pics to them as well.

RE: Philemon Slocum
Thank you so much Sue for the offer to transfer Philemon to me but it is not necessary. I wish I had additional info to add to his memorial but I do not.
Thanks again Sue, that was very kind of you. Hope you have a great weekend in despite of all the rain that approaches!

Isaac Sergeant photo request
Hello. I went to Ridegeberry Cemetery today in Ridgebury, NY (yes, they are spelled 2 different ways - "Ridgeberry" was the original spelling, but when the hamlet's name was changed, the cemeterty's was not), but I had greater difficulties than anticipated. The weather's been warm, so I thought much of the snow would be gone. Not so. The shorter markers are completely covered and there's a thick ice crust over the snow, which made walking difficult. Also, many markers had holiday wreaths wired to their faces, making reading some of them impossible. The upshot - I didn't find your ancestor. From the background of the photo, the marker seems to be among older burials (makes sense!). Perhaps another time.

Hi Sue,
Recently visited Magnolia Cemetery and found your site to be very helpful - appreciate all the work that has been done! I would like to add to the info on Margaret "Maggie" Hodges Austin. In addition to Walter Austin (also buried there) she had 3 other children with husband Robert James Austin: Claude Henry (my grandfather), Teddy and Jared York aka JY. Thank you and if you get any other info about these children I would be extremely interested. Teri Austin Siewert

RE: Slocum - Magnolia Cemetery
Thanks Sue! I doubt she is in the new section, but it is possible. Their daughter Virginia did live to the age of 95. And I did recently add a lady to Greenoaks Cemetery who lived to be 101!

Perhaps I will take a stroll through Magnolia Cemetery in the near future...thanks again Sue!

RE: Joseph and Matilda Boone
Sure, Sue, if you would like to send them back, I will care for them as I do so many of the Boone memorial pages. Thanks!

RE: Joseph and Matilda Boone
I prefer not to keep the memorials once I have requested and worked with a photo volunteer to get a good digital photo of the monument, add complete or correct dates, add a marraige date (Just as a repository for the valid date - some don't have good public accessible records) and hopefully add the family links which cannot be added w/o access to the page - namely the parents, and in some cases spouses. All that is for the extended family someday. I used to go to great lengths to find and aquire an obit, and even add (my ownership) photos, but now those get deleted every so often, so took the fun out of that part. So no, I don't want them. If the originator doesn't want them I send them to the photographer.

Joseph and Matilda Boone
Thank you, Sue, for the transfers. They have their family links and headstone photos and are back in your care until a closer family member comes along.
