PLEASE DO NOT ADD COPIES OF DEATH CERTIFICATES TO MY MEMORIAL PAGES.
I am 71 years old. At the age of 52 I became interested in family history because of my husband's daughter. She wanted some information about her family. Others had promised information but did not come thru with it so I told her I would help her. It was so much fun I have continued with my research. I am always happy to help in the search and photo taking of a monument. I have been helped many times in the past and hope to help others in the future. One outstanding person in Camden, Missouri, Janice Pennington, who is now my dear friend, is the main reason I became interested in Find A Grave. Through Genforum I requested one picture of a monument in a cemetery fairly close to her area. She saw my request, contacted me and told me she would get the picture for me. Not only did she get that picture but she sent me over 50 other pictures of my ancestors graves in the same cemetery. Because of her and also her husband Larry, I wanted to help others find graves of their families and take photo's of the headstones. That is when I found Find A Grave. Talk about getting your prayers answered, I did. Another lady, Roberta, who lives in Indiana, went to Kentucky and took over 70 pictures for me at 4 different cemeteries of my ancestors graves. The gratitude I have for these people makes me want to grab every photo request I can to help others. If I can make a correction or add information to a memorial page, please let me know. If you would like to have one of my memorial pages transferred to you, (if they are not a member of my family), please let me know and I will do it. Please go thru the proper channels for any changes or transfers of a memorial page.
Dorothy Helen Wallace Hi Joyce, was checking thru some of my memorials, when I noticed that you had added the unmarked grave photo to it. I did find a faded cemetery marker and had added that to the memorial.Could you please delete the marker photo you added. Thank's, LaDonna
RE: ML Gaines photo request I feel pretty sure that this is your person as Sarah J. Gaines shares the same headstone. I will go ahead and post the photos for each one's memorial. I'm not sure how the date of death was given to the providers of the CSA plaque but I've got that photo also, so it will be there.
ML Gaines photo request Greetings, I found a ML Gaines in the Ai Baptist Church Cemetery and will gladly post the photo but I wanted to check first as there is a discrepancy in the date of death. The headstone says 12/29/1923 instead of 12/29/1918. However the CSA plaque has 12/29/1918. I feel sure this is your man. If you do, I will post it. Just let me know.
I just don't like to make a mistake at this kind of stuff.
Thank you and your sister-in-law so very much for all the extra effort you have gone to to help me find the graves of uncle Johnnie, Thelma and Mary. I'm so grateful to you!!! Perhaps someday I'm find their death certificates or other information that might answer the questions about their burials. I'm guessing you are correct and they just were buried without markers. Again, thank you for your efforts!
Thank you so much for attempting to fulfill by photo requests for: Thelma R. Moore Fletcher-Cobb # 156853038 Mary Elizabeth Fletcher Cobb # 156869584 John Andrew "Johnnie" Cobb # 156868916
I really appreciate all of your efforts. I'm confused though that they don't seem to be buried at Brownfield Cemetery or anywhere in Terry County, TX according to the courthouse records as you mentioned. I found the obituaries for all 3 of them in the Brownfield News and they are were all supposedly buried at Brownfield Cemetery, so I am at a total lose! I haven't been able to get death certificates for them. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!
