Edna L. Turk - Find A Grave Memorial # 144365107
Thanks in advance for your help,
|Pam||RE: Elizabeth Crawley|
Thank you for responding. Nice to have a new cousin.
I have limited information on the Crawley line also.
There was a family story about them coming from a wealthy family in Germany and some of the great aunts talked about going there to collect their inheritance. I have never made any kind of connection but have been curious about that.
It could have been from one of the Crawley's spouses and I've been unable to find that also.
This line has me stumped for sure.

I got that wrong. I descend from her son George Harrington Crawley, whose daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Crawley was my great grandmother. I think this is the right person. Was Elizabeth's maiden name Green?

I noticed on the Memorial for Elizabeth Crawley that she is your 3rd great grandmother. She is also my 3rd great grandmother. I wonder how we are connected. I descend from her daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Crawley.

Wow!! MANY thanks for your friendly and informative reply! That was so generous of you to find all this for me! How exciting! I need to re-subscribe to Ancestory.com (?) I think, if you recommend that. I had it for awhile but didn't tke the time to look a few years ago.
I never knew Aunt Roxie but my mom said she was a real character. So neat to be able to discover and communicate through this site! I LOVE looking at these old graves, they tell such a story!
I wish we WERE related - you're a jewel in the family tree!!
Hope to be able to chat with you again!

Thank you for your posts and helpfulness!
I think we are related. Roxie was my dad, Eugene M.Lowry's aunt, and Peter Bascomb Lowry was his grandpa. I'm so curious about their mother, Ellen Battle. It says on my dad's father's page (Claude J. Lowry, Roxie's brother), that their mother was born in Texas. Can't find anything about her.
How are you related to all this?
Look forward to hearing from you!

|Carol and Kelly Arnold||RE: Sep Smith Family - Burks Connection|
Nice to hear from you. So Kelly now has yet another 'many times removed' Texas cousin. Elizabeth Bonds Smith was his Great Grand-mother (married to Gip Smith) and Martha Burks Bonds would have been his Great-Great Grandmother....your Abel Robinson Burks would be linked as a Great ...Uncle.
Thanks for the connection. We currently do not have any family information before Elizabeth Bonds to share with you, but let us know if you are interested in any particular details. If we every find out, we can certainly pass them on to you.

Someone else claimed the Frances Smith picture so I can't fulfill the request. I do have the picture though so if it the other photographer hasn't posted in a week or so, let me know and I will add it.
