Bio Photo Hello, I'm Dianne.
I moved to the Pacific Northwest from Indiana 5 years ago and love it here. I live about halfway between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.
I've been interested in genealogy since I was about 12. That summer I found a bunch of papers in my grandmother's garage. Being a big reader, I sat on a dusty box for the entire afternoon and learned that my grandfather and great-grandfather had made things very easy for me, as they had put together a very detailed family history during the 1920's. I kept every page I found that day, and I have been continuously adding to their work by citing references, finding certificates, and, of course, trying to find cousins and other descendants.
My grandmother and mother used to take me to the cemetery when I was a kid. Every Memorial Day grandma would make sure her husband had his veteran's flag and would put those weird plastic flowers on grandfather's headstone and we'd trim up the grass around the grave. Then she would always say that when she was little, once a year her mother would actually sit with a little jar of white paint and would painstakingly paint each letter that was inscribed in her husband's stone. We didn't have to go that far, but after we were done with our maintenance work, I'd walk around the cemetery repectfully. I'd wonder at all the history there, while reading and admiring the artistic metal and stonework and the quiet, parklike setting.
Yep, here I am 35 years later still doing the same thing.

Forget my first message as it isn't possible for her to have been born in 1860 as her own parents would have on been around 4 years old - DON'T THINK SO. I guess she really was only 15 when she died.

Could you please double check the photo you took of Amanda Anderson (Mrs Victor). It appears she was only 15 when she died yet at times when I look at the monument photo it seems like she was born in 1860 not 1880. What is your take on the birth year.

Thank you
Much appreciate the picture of Sophia Stevens headstone. Sophia was my father's grandmother from New York. Her name was Sophia Rose and she married Emmons F Stevens.

Thanks again.

girl Murphy
I walked the cemetery with the groundskeeper, and found the location of girl Murphy's grave, tho it is unmarked, we went through the records and determined the location as a slight depression, and designated at this spot on the 'redo' of the lists...I have photographed the location, and the view from there as well. If anyone is interested, i will send it.

Chester J. Huff
I have the funeral home books and Mr. Huff is listed as being cremated but not buried. Hulbush Funeral Home took care of the arraignments.
I also see a Pauline R. Huff buried in Burlington Cemetery, And a Robert F Huff, and he is also listed as cremated but no cemetery listed as to where he is.
It could be someone has not buried Chester and Robert as of yet.
Hulbush Funeral Home here in Burlington was in charge of all 3.
If they are family, there are instances that cremains are stored at the funeral home.
Hope this helps

Don't know if the marker is correct or the info supplied to me by the cemetery Sexton's office. I suspect the marker is incorrect. One nice thing is that you can do a search on just a few of the first letters so they might be able to find it that way.
