|Hey everyone! I'm Cadenza Fleur, and I guess you could say I've grown up in cemeteries. When I was a toddler and we still called it the "memorial garden", I would accompany my grandfather on walks there to water flowers; when I was a child, the local cemetery became my favorite place to steal away to and spend the day exploring. Before I learned about Find a Grave, starting at age ten or so, I was the strange girl walking up and down the rows with a recorder and a notebook, scribbling down the names and dates of any stone I found interesting and determined to see every grave in Greenlawn at least once. I was particularly interested in those who died young - infants, children, and young adults, especially young women - and I think my FaG contributions reflect that. |
I am the product of generations of writers and historians - storytellers, story collectors, and story sharers - and have seen in my own experience the value of a single story. It is because of a single story that I am alive. Here and elsewhere it has become my goal to collect and share the stories of those whose lives were cut short.
Many of the memorials I have added belong to children - children I know little about. If you have any corrections or information to add, I would be happy to add it; if you are closely connected to one of the people I have added, feel free to request a transfer. I cannot guarantee to oblige every request, but there are only a few memorials I would not want to relinquish due to being special to me. It is not my goal to "own" all the memorials I add - just to tell the story of each life, however short, as best I can. If you can do it better, let me know. :)

Hi,Cadenza, I'm glad you are happy with the photos! He has a very pretty stone, and I tried to get back far enough from it and zoom in. I know I have taken photos of those shiny ones, and gotten home and saw my legs or feet in them, and thought, darn now I've got to go back and do it again, lol Have a great day, Mark
