Bio and Links
Bio Photo I began a quest to find my 1988. When I began my quest, there were no documents that I could use to trace my ancestors. My parents were deceased as were most of my fathers siblings; the others were elderly and could not remember very much. My mother was adopted. The document that started me on my journey was my grandfather's social security application. It provided me with his place of birth, father's name and mother's maiden name.
In 2006 I found my great-great grandfather's grave. He is buried in the Birdsboro Cemetery aka St. Michael's Episcopal Cemetery in Birdsboro, Berks, PA. I made a promise to him that he and other Fairs would never be forgotten. Since that time, I have added many Fairs that were not listed in findagrave.
I am related to the Fairs in the following Pennsylvania counties: Armstrong, Allegheny, Beaver, Indiana, Bucks, Butler, Westmoreland, Mercer, Venango, Allegheny, Fayette, Lawrence, Montgomery, Clarion, Chester, Lancaster, Lebanon and Berks. Also the following states: Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, Colorado, California, Arizona, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Oklahoma. We are descendants of Johannes Fahr/ John Fair b.1730 in Germany, d.1808 Berks County PA. I would like to meet relatives from those aforementioned counties and states.

If anyone wishes a memorial transfer, just let me know. I will be more than happy to make the transfer. The exception being anyone with whom I am diectly related. Please use the edit button on the top of the memorial to send me your request. I would be very interested in how you are related to the person in question. That information is optional of course. I will still make the transfer. Reuniting people with their loved ones means more to me than the quest to have the most memorials added.

"People will not look forward to posterity who never look backward to their ancestors" -- James Barnwell Heyward

Poor is the nation that has no heroes. Shameful is the nation that has heroes...and forgets them. You are not forgotten.

RE: Rev. Frederick Fair
Hi Jerry:

I am guessing Rev. Fair was buried in Ripley, Chautauqua County, NY by bowing to his wife Olive's preference to be buried in the same cemetery as Olive's parents, grandparents, and many of her other Dawson relatives.

RE: LTC Schwalm
I will gladly transfer any to you. If it gives the military stone I will always add. Please ask.

Jerry thanks for your reply. Just want to let you know I have not given up on your Underwood photo request. I always inquire at least twice before giving up and then I keep them on a list to look for when I am out at the cemetery. I unclaimed them for now because I won't be able to get out to Lakewood for at least two weeks.

Underwoods at Lakewood
Jerry, buried next to your John H. Underwood is Almeida H. and Edmirl Fair underwood. I was given this location for your Chester underwood and his wife but was unable to find them anywhere in the area. I will be creating a memorial page these people. Fran

I am one who believes family members are the better care taker. It was my pleasure to transfer management. If I have any other family members let me know and I will be happy to transfer to you.

Sarah M. Fair
Mildred Townsend Paul's death certificate lists her parents as Thomas T. Townsend and Sarah M. Fair. I think that Thomas may have been her second marriage. I recall in a US census that I found a John who I suspect was her son from that marriage. To date I have no proof of that. Also, in the Apollo, PA Library there is an extensive file on the Townsend's. In that file are transcriptions of various Bible records. One of them lists her as Sarah M. Fair as well.

Hello, Jerry!

Sadly I live in Colorado. I try to get back to Pennsylvania once each year in the summer. Have you contacted the church keeping the records? They should be able to tell you where the plots are and then you could get the tombstone.

Good luck!

RE: Claudia Fehr
Thank you, Jerry for contacting me about our family history. I had little information about Claudia and her family. With the information you gave I now have more details to help me continue my search.

It is great to learn about Marks Fair part in the Revolutionary War. I have few other direct ancestors who fought in the war, as well as some who fought in the Civil War. I had considered getting involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Right now, I am still doing some research and will keep both in the back of mind.

Thank you, once again for contacting me. Best wishes, take care.

RE: Anetta Barton
You are very welcome, Jerry. When I'm standing in those cemeteries on the hot or freezing days, I think of those who will use this information. Glad to get a response. : )
