Bio Photo In the last few years, I have been creating memorials for my family, as I discover where they are buried. This is still an on going project.

Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

Recently (Aug 2011), I transcribed The Bay City IOOF Cemetery. I have created a spreadsheet of this Cemetery, taken photos of all of the headstones and put this information on FindaGrave. I have tried to research something about the person and link them with their family members.

I have completed photographing all of the headstones at the Fairview Pioneer Cemetery. I have also received from the Tillamook Pioneer Museum a listing of all of the graves that are in This Cemetery, along with a map. It is quite a small cemetery and it is quite overgrown, there are not many headstones left that are readable.

My next goal is to transcribe the cemetery at the Sunset Heights Memorial Gardens. Thank you to everyone who helps me out on this journey.

RE: Bay City IOOF Cemetery
Hi, thank you, I couldn't find the cemetery, I am not from Tillamook :--) So that works out, not sure why someone requested photos :-)

RE: Re: Find A Grave Correction: John McLoughlin

You are welcome and I did read his biographical information. Thank you for your source. I am familiar with the "Lives Lived West of the Divide" "A Biographical Dictionary of Fur Traders Working West of the Rockies, 1793-1858" - volume 2, 2010. Here is a link to the online book:

My source for re-internment in St James Church Cemetery on 2 of October 1843 is from "The Mantle of Elias: The Story of Fathers Blanchet and Demers in Early Oregon" by E. Leona Nichols; Binford & Mort Publisher, Portland Oregon, ©1941; Forward: material taken from original source and translated from French. “Made possible by the opening of the archives of the Arch Diocese of Portland, Oregon by permission of Right Reverend Edward D. Howard, Archbishop of Portland, in Oregon,” assessed 8 Jun 2015 [Ancestry], unigift.

The discrepancy in re-internment dates could be a typo error. I have found some other date discrepancies in the "Lives Lived West of the Divide" that are different from actual records for other people. May I make a suggestion that you cite your source in his bio this way others will know.

Best wishes,
