I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.|
If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.
For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.
From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.
If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.
I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

I would like to request that you transfer Fred Greusel's Findagrave 172952323. He's my father and I'm active on Findagrave and would like to link him into his family.

Hello. I would like to request a transfer for Ruth Soden Rice (30968460) to myself. I am her grandson and just visited her grave in Robinson with her daughter a few weeks ago. Thank you so much for adding her information online.

This person was buried in Antioch Cemetery, Clinton County (Gower) and your memorial was placed at Atnioch Cemetery, Buchanan County. Someone has already Placed the correct obit in the correct cemetery. Please remove your entry from Buchanan County.

Hi...in the body of her obit it says she died March 11 but at the top of the page her date of death is given as Feb. 11. Which date is correct. Thank you for your time. Joanne

You have a photo attached to this memorial with three grave markers. Can you please tell me who the markers are for?
|memento mori||Fictitious cemetery|
Several of your memorials are placed in a fictitious cemetery: Harrisonville,Cemetery, Cedar County, Missouri. (Harrisonville is in Cass County, not Cedar County.) Some of these individuals were cremated and the location of the ashes is unknown.
If you believe this cemetery exists, please provide an address, directions, photo, and GPS coordinates.
Thank you very much for the transfer! I really appreciate it a lot!!
