Bio and Links
Bio Photo PHOTOS: Any photo I have posted on Find-a-Grave is intended to be used...please consider this your permission to copy and/or post any of my photos.

When I fulfill a photo request, I do not simply take a photo of the request only. I research the surname (and often connected surnames) within that particular cemetery and photograph them all when I go. And I will never, ever take just one photo within a lot. If the lot has more than one grave, they ALL get photographed since they will all be connected in some way. This allows a person to see photos of their entire family units, plus allows me to edit and link them all together when adding the photos.

DUPLICATES: I try my best to do a thorough check before entering any memorials. I will never intentionally create a duplicate, although sometimes it just happens with the delay in the Find-a-Grave system at times. Even if my memorial was entered first, I will usually delete IF the other memorial is complete.

My interest is not in numbers but in the precious souls who walked among us on this earth. However, I would appreciate your using "the Golden Rule" when asking me to delete a memorial. Most people already do and don't have to be reminded. Just want you to know that I will never intentionally be rude to anyone.

CORRECTIONS: I'll be happy to make corrections on any of my entries if needed, or I will gladly transfer memorials to family members (at my discretion when it involves my kinfolks). I would appreciate your using the "Edit" function to request corrections.

ABOUT ME: I have lived in Sweetwater, Texas all but four years of my life. A genealogy nut, I love to help people find their family information through this volunteer work.

FIND-A-GRAVE: I am the Find-A-Grave coordinator for the Nolan County Cemeteries. The Sweetwater Cemetery is my favorite (my daughter, father & grandparents are buried there).

MY FAMILIES: (just to name a few)

Cardwell * Hammond * Turner * Elam * Fry * Douglass

Hughes * Thomas * Lee * Beard * Willingham * Folmar

Free * Wyly * Bates * Stewart * Powell

Always interested in hearing from anyone with any connections to my families.

MY CEMETERY TIES: I have strong family ties to the following cemeteries:

* Sweetwater (Nolan County, TX)
* Old Bethel (Anderson County, TX)
* Frankston City (Anderson County, TX)
* Roby (Fisher County, TX)
* Rose Hill (Taylor County, TX)

By Thelma Greene Reagan

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Ammendment to my previous message
I forgot to list my great-grandmother's married name. Her full name would be Delcy Fare Davis Arnold. In researching her, I have found varying spellings of her first name.

My Great-Grandmother
Mrs. Davis,

I notice you posted the grave marker for my my mother's paternal grandmother (one of my great-grandmothers), Delcy Fare Davis. I don't know if we are distantly related, but I am trying desperately to track down her genealogy. Perhaps you can help.

Thank you,

RE: Comolli - Sweetwater Garden of Memories
It must have been a computer glitch. It is gone now. I am a Cook by marriage. They are from NC. Do you have any information on Mary Eurith's husband Paul who died in 1937?

RE: Comolli - Sweetwater Garden of Memories
There is a slight problem. A person is connecting with the Comolli's that should not be. a 2 year old named Dora showing she has children. Please remove. Thanks.

Christopher Columbus Hartzog

Thank you for what you do! I descend from one of CC's siblings, and in updating my genealogy, I found this site. In the information for him, I wanted to correct some information. He was born in Lawrence Co., MS. His parents were Andrew Snell Hartzog and Mary Elizabeth Daniel of the same county. They are well documented there in several censuses. Andrew was b. in Orangeburgh Dist., SC and Mary Elizabeth in Georgia. CC had several siblings, including my 2nd great grandmother, Amanda Hartzog, who married JPJ Dawson, and went to Hunt Co., TX about 1859.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the quick edit!
Thanks for linking Norman Moses Williams to his mother and adding his birth and death places. I appreciate it a lot!

Norman Williams
FYI I just requested an edit to link Norman Williams' mother to his memorial. It looks incorrect, because his mother's [final] last name is Marshall, but she is his mother. I wish I knew where his father, Moses Williams was buried and the year he died. He died before the 1900 census--probably in Eastland County, Texas, but I am not positive.

PS I have Smith kin in Sweetwater. We may have corresponded about it before. :)

Thanks, Sandra Smith Gwilliam
