Hi, I'm Jonathan and I'm the webmaster for the Prentiss County Genealogical and Historical Society in Booneville, MS. I began researching my family's history at age 19 after my grandfather, Clingmin Hicks, passed away. My favorite part of research has always been visiting cemeteries and I thought a website such as this must exist, and sure enough, here it is. |
I'm not related to everyone I memorialize on here so if you are please contact me and I'll transfer your relative right over unless it's a direct and closely related ancestor of mine.
I made a lot of my memorials on here before January 2007 and before the website supported linking relatives. I would be glad to link relatives together if you would like.

Jonathan, thank you so very very much for the transfer of "Miss Winnie" as my Mother says she was called in the family. It looks like I may need to contact you in regard to questions I have in regard to the Byrd/Anderson families due to the position you hold in Prentiss County! If you get an email from "Jazzbaby", please don't throw it out.
I'm doing well on research but am new and have run up against a wall on some of my ancestors.
Your work is just great and such a wonderful, generous blessing to me and I'm sure countless others. I am finding my way slowly but surely.

Thank you so much. I remember seeing a Rees stone, though not the Bennetts (although they may have not registered at the time). We looked the cemetery over twice, but I suppose with lichens and mildew I could have missed it. Thank you for posting the photo. I don't know if my mom's memory is faulty or if the stone was repaired (though I couldn't tell from the photo). I will assume it is there still and will look again if I/we make another trip to NE MS. Thanks for the reference points, and for all the work you have done at Campground and other areas nearby.

I have her birthdate as Feb 1855, which if accurate she could have been born in MS.. I don't know. I have her married to Wesley Newel on 3 May 1877. She died in Wynnewood Ok in my grandfathers house on 9 June 1933 when they were living there. I saw her grave when I was stationed at Ft Sill in 80s. I was a huge headstone with several of her children buried around her.

On her memorial you suggest she was born in Tenn. Don't know for sure but her daughter Mary Jane was the mother of my grandfather Troy Fennel. In my grandmothers book Nancy was born near Baldwyn, Ms. I dont know how accurate that is.

Rev. Reuben Ellis, Mem. #67073047 buried in Campground Cemetery in Prentiss Co., MS is my GGG- Grandfather. My mother remembers seeing his stone many years ago before the wreckage that occurred to the cemetery when someone went in to "clean it up". She also remembers seeing the stone, broken into pieces. We were there this past weekend and could not find the stone or any fragments. I'm curious as to when the photo of the stone on his memorial page was taken. I noticed that you added it in 2011.

Jonathan, Today I can see all the pictues just fine-don't know what happened last night
Thanks so much, the pictures are great.
Jonathan, I don't know if it's my computer, but when I try to look at the pictures you added for Delmus & Flaura Barnes & Joy Clark I just get a rectangle with an x in the top corner.

I would Like to let you know that your W. C. Cummings, Sr. #30893899 is the same person as Walter Clifton Cummings, Sr. #114338333. Both buried in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He was my grandfather. I don't know how they can be combined.
