Hi, Louis,

Thanks for your addition to this memorial and your note. I was able to locate Henry's obituary and add to his memorial.

His wife is buried with him, and his parents are buried in Gladbrook where he was born. Gladbrook was often a transitional stop for people heading to this part of Iowa which was unsettled for longer than other parts of the state.

So, until I got your note, I had no information, and now I do, and I'm happy to share what I found with the site, so it's all been posted on his memorial.

I was not able to find his brother in Grundy county, Iowa or his son Gerald in Mankato, MN.

Thanks so much! :)

I don't want to cause any trouble, but I don't know what Find A Grave would do, someone put most of the memorials in the wrong cemetery, and won't change them. If you wish contact Find A Grave and see what they consider duplicate. I can't figure out what they think. We took photos of the memorials and am sure they are buried where they have a memorial, not where WPA said.

FAG Photo's C.W. VETS
Hi again Louis, I just realized that you have taken and posted several photo's of C.W. Veterans in Bremer Co.. May I use them on the Vermont Civil War site? Perhaps there are others, in other counties that I haven't discovered yet. May I ? Of course, you would be credited.
Thank you, Deanna French

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am working on a project to locate the last resting of many of our C.W.Veterans. I am asking you if I may use the photo you have posted on the memorial page of James Garner, to post on Vermont's C.W. site ( You would receive credit foor this.
Thank you for your consideration

Thank you for adding the picture of Hiram Lester's tombstone in Fremont Cemetery, Bremer County, Iowa. Do You mind if I use the picture on my family tree on ancestry. Hiram Lester was my husband's great-grandfather. Thank you for your consideration. Janine Eller Porter
