|ponder||Mary Jane West Hocker (1825-1874) - Memorial# 23551336|
I saw your note on this memorial. I noticed that the death record and obituary have the same death date and parents. I assume this is probably the correct death record, but with the wrong age. Also, notice the death record shows she is married, which is somewhat unusual for a 15-year-old. In addition, her father's name is kind of unusual, so if this is a different younger Fielding West, then I would expect to find him easily on census.

Thank you for the transfers. Your post of the newspaper obituary was the link I needed as I am in Vermont and only internet access to information. According to family notes his father was William Moore from Missouri and believed to have been changed from Mohr to Moore. If you don't mind,in your searches please keep an eye out for him. Thanks again. Have a good day!

I am working on family genealogy and found your information on Wiley Moore. I added his daughter Alma Moore Dyer Pratt to the site. I am wondering if you had any more information on his parents. All could find was they were William Moore and Betty Looney. His wife was Mary Frances Green her first husband was Henry White which they had 2 children William and Grace Staggs. Henry died from the influenza around 1918 and she married Wiley Moore and had 4 other children Alma Pratt, Bertha Taylor, Edna Harrison and Betty Jane Jeffreys 1st husband, 2nd Sibley.
From what I know Wiley's real name was John Houston Beauregard Moore but went by either John and later Wiley

She was my grandmother. Yes, I have more photos and will see if I can identify other relatives from her generation.
I do have one very cool photo of her when she was young. It looks sort of like a wedding or maybe an engagement shot, and if so, it would have to have been the first marriage.

We have the same ancestors; which child of John and Sarah's is your line? James and Mary are our line.
John's bio states his parents and Sarah's maiden name(found on ancestry.com) He is mentioned several times in the Heritage Book of Macon County,NC and others. In John's bio., would you delete Off Fisher Creek, please. Their son Charles is on Find A Grave # 89196602, but they haven't connected him to parents.
We are trying to get connections for the DAR under John. Thanks so much,

I'm sorry that this has taken so long. I haven't been checking my messages and was just now going through them. I will send you what info, I have later today. Sadly I don't have pictures. You said Almeda is your gg grandmother. From her first marriage or second? I go to her first marriage. I've tried to find where she is buried at in Indiana and can't find it.

I found an Obit at the Vigo County Libray dated 4 December 1932, Page 02 in the Tribune Newspaper. I have a meeting tomorrow at the library, so I'll see what it says. Get back to you (a copy at 10 cent), otherwise, they want $5.00 to mail it to you.
Thanks again for another transfer.. Very much appreaciated!
