I found that you created a memorial for Joseph Deaton Sr. Joseph was my GGGGG grandfather. I just submitted a photo request, but my guess is that since you are a Deaton, if a stone still existed you would have posted one. Have you searched for his, or his wife Elizabeth's, stones?

Her obit can be found in the St Paris Newspaper. I'm sure a microfilmed copied can be obtained from either the St Paris Public Library or perhaps the Champaign County Public Library.
As for her marriage, it is recorded on November 25, 1838 in Clark Co, OH, just as her obit mentioned.
I hope this helps to clear up any confusion you have. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I am trying to sort out who belongs in which "Macedonia" cemetery in Montgomery County...there are three such churches in the county, the Presbyterian in Candor, and United Methodist Churches in Eldorado and Star (Anber community..Star address) The list people see online for the Macedonia Presbyterian Church in Candor is not correct...it lists many burials that are actually in the Macedonia Church in Star (Abner). I am in the process of correcting the errors.
I found Judith Sauders Freeman on a row-by-row census for Macedonia UMC in Star locating her grave as in Row 7. The census was done in 1996.
I am confused because you have photographs....so any input you can give me would be great!!

Thanks for your message regarding Jeffrey Deaton (memorial # 119592057). I am not having much luck getting Find A Grave Admin to list my memorial as a cenotaph --they must be really busy as they haven't done anything or responded to me. I will probably send another request if I don't have any action from them before long. In researching the two memorials for Jeffrey, I found another Jeffrey L. Deaton in another cemetery in Pope County, IL with the same dates. I'm wondering if this might be another centoaph if his ashes were actually scattered in Alaska? Any thoughts?

Thank you for your message regarding Jeffrey's memorial. I have changed the date to match the headstone rather than the obituary. I have also contacted Find A Grave requesting that my memorial be listed as a cenotaph and that the two memorials be linked. Is he a relative of yours? Again, thanks for your help in this matter. Happy New Year.

|Brad||Deaton updates at Forest Lawn|
Hi Mike, Thank you for the updates for those memorials at Forest Lawn. I have updated them.
They have a new system now for sending edits for memorials. You enter the information you want added and all I have to do is accept it and it automatically updates the memorials for me. Its much easier for me.
Family links & obituaries you still need to send the same way. Try it next time..

A contributor named Lanie asked for Mary E. Deaton's grave photo. I don't know how to get in touch with her, but she is researching the same family perhaps. There is a photo of Mary on the file that must have come from a family member. Perhaps you can get in touch through Mary's memorial.
|Joy Steele||EMS Deaton|
Hi. I'm sorry I have no information than what I created on Find A Grave. I added that memorial since I had been asked to fill a request for his spouse and he was not on the file.
I would be happy to transfer his memorial to you if you like so that you can add information as you find it.
I don't know if the Iredell Public Library history room would have more information about EMS vs. William as the father's name. Would Mary have been married to a brother of EMS prior to EMS? These mysteries need us to think outside the box, so I'm just casting around for questions to help solve a question. Unfortunately, too, the death certificate information may not be completely accurate.
Do you have a contact person for this old cemetery? I don't know if the church is still active; but there have been burials since 1998 into the last couple of years. Have you Googled it? Also, one of the markers was a funeral home marker placed by Reavis Funeral Home of Statesville, 318 Davie Avenue, Statesville, NC; 704-873-4359. They might know a contact for this cemetery.
Let me know what you find out.
