RE: Robert Hofegartner
If you want to hold off a few days, I don't live too far away and will try to drive over to Kolb and/or Hillcrest and see if I can locate the marker.

Good question. Odd, too, that the same photo appears at both locations. Guess we need to work on that.

And of course this is my grandmother, wife of Thomas Clark.

Please consider transferring her to me as well.

RE: Jane Gum
The head stone reads "Aged About 86 years". The Highland Recorder newspaper mentions her age at the time of her death as 81. As people got into advanced ages, they tended to tack on a few years to make themselves appear older & perhaps wiser... Another thing to keep in mind there were few written records handy for family members to review, frequently dates were based on what someone thought they remembered.
Likely Jane's birth year is 1814-1819

RE: Abraham Gum
Thanks Sharon! I really didn't want to lose the history of the Cemetery. I hope the Gum relatives looking down are happy too! I really want to know who is buried in the unmarked graves. I believe that Isaac Gums first wife Mary Jane Ruckman is probably there, as well their 3 daughters Nancy E, Margaret Caroline and Mary Elizabeth but I have not been able to find anything information to proved it. The last thing I want to do is put an arched Gum Cemetery sign over the entrance. May have to wait until fall to put that up. Thanks! Mark

RE: Abraham Gum
Thanks Sharon! Really the camera is just a cheap digital one. It must be the photographer LOL! Check out the new pics of the Gum cemetery I just uploaded. Fixed and cleaned all the tombstones. Also, fenced it in to keep the cattle from knocking them over. Looks pretty good.
